Tom Herman (Former Head Coach FAU Owls)

Actually I thought the play calling on Offense could have been better. But then again, Braxton seemed "off" most of the day on some of his reads as well as his throws, so who knows? Bottom line: When the game was on the line, both staff and players came up big. Very gusty call by Herman and great execution by the Offense.

I agree as well. I didn't think we got Hyde north and south enough. I didn't see the counter enough either. It's so hard to say though without breaking down every play and seeing how often Braxton's reads were correct.

It really looked to me that they put an emphasis on throwing the ball yesterday. That was more than likely the plan coming into the game, especially when you consider Purdue has some pretty good interior linemen.

Ohio St really struggles when they don't run to set up the pass.

Herman is very impressive to listen to in his pressers. You can see that he has a high level of intelligence.....and what has impressed me the most with him this season is his ability to make adjustments in the second and third quarter. Obviously, he is very skilled at seeing what the defense gives them and adjusts.......something that his predecessor didn't do very often. I think we had better enjoy having him here for a while, because he'll be a head coach very soon. I don't know why, but he has the look of an NFL head coach.... I don't have a particular reason for thinking that; I just think he's going to be a very good one.

it's funny that he said he doesn't believe in luck, yet he carries the lucky rock, and says he doesn't want to jinx himself.

i really like this guy. well spoken, wry sense of humor, and obviously great with the Xs and Os.

I don't believe in luck or silly superstitions either, but I changed my shirt in the 4th quarter of the Purdue game anyhow when I realized the sweatshirt I had on was the one I wore to the '07 Illinois game and for the '08 Penn St game.

Sorry about that, everyone. It will NOT happen again.
