After re watching the game, I think Toledo just pretty really well on defense. Our RBs did miss holes, but Toledo flew to the football. Hard to get the play action game going when there is little threat of gashing runs. JB gets a pass on this one from me. He did miss throws though...

I think we lacked passion on defense for most of the game, but they picked it up at the end of the 3rd. We struggled with the WR screen game. In years past Jer'male Hines was the guy always blowing them up. I think Bryant is that guy. He replaced OJ in the 4th, and played very well.

Brad Roby and Dom Clarke are monsters. Travis Howard is suppose to be better than both, I really wanna see him on the field. Clarke is playing out of his mind though, and no one even looks Roby's way.

After re-watching the offense I think Baus played pretty good the whole game. The team was clearly thrown off by the last minute suspensions.
Yet, we still won! Tress would have called it a character builder. He would have loved it. :tongue2:

they didn't win first down. that's the whole struggle in a nutshell.

In general, on run downs they played eight or sometimes even nine in the box and left their corners in man to man coverage playing 7-8 yards off of the receivers. They were playing any run action very aggressively, attacking gaps with linebackers and safeties as soon as they read run.

and this is why. i've been asking this question for YEARS. where is the check off before the snap and the quick pass out wide?
if the D is giving you 5 yards outside, you have to take it...

i hate to beat this dead horse, but although Tressel may be gone, the same guy is running the offense. and his 'gameplan' is once again submarining the O's ability to succeed.

I agree, I hope the coaches will improve on adjustments to the play calling based on what the defense is giving you. In my imo this has not been a strength for tOSU (mostly for the offensive play calls).
