To CCG or not to CCG (split from college playoff thread)

No 50+ day layoffs and kill the myth that the Big 10 teams pads their schedule with rent-a-wins so they can play for the NC.
They already added a bye week. The layoff was a problem ONCE in 5 bcs games, when they were told how great they were. I wonder which was the main problem?

I'd be real curious if you buy this kneejerk fallacy about scheduling... when it pertains to osu.

Why? Point out what years the b10 crowned the wrong team #1. A 7-4 FSU team gets a CCG berth after a 3 game losing streak :slappy: A 7-4 Colorado team showing up for it's annual beatdown? They didn't even finish with a winning record.

Yeap because with a playoff an 7-5 team could NEVER win the NC. Just like a wildcard team 7-5 could never win the superbowl. Because we know that in 2005 the 14-2 Colts were superbowl champs, right...

You mean with teams like La Tech and Tulane??

:slappy:

And 50+ day layoffs only affected OHio STate LAST YEAR and last year alone. Before that Ohio STate had won a 4 BCS games in a row....

Or if you mean to crown the "best team" you don't have to look very far back to find out where that absolutely screwed the SEC out of a National Title game appearance....

therefore

What does that have to do with anything? A 4-loss team deserves NO shot at an elite bowl game. CCG's have routinely provided that absurd chance.

It is not absurd, they earn that chance on the field. It is not decided by a bunch of guys trying to make some money. Those rewards are decided by the play on the field.

Really? The CCG concept wasn't made up by a bunch of guys trying to make some money? Do you really believe that? :slappy:

Sorry, a 4-loss FSU team does not deserve a shot at a BCS bid... when this system leaves out a top-5 Oregon squad.

His name was Roy Kramer and the irony of it all was he was the SEC commish. He is the architecht of the current BCS system.

Then i suggest the top 5 oregon team stop relying on the French judges and get in a conference that decides it on the field. I am surprised that a conference as good as the big 10 and pac 10 are not willing to go into a playoff type system.

You do realize that the Pac-10 plays a round robin schedule where every team plays the other right?

Oh wait that would involve you knowing anything about any other team other than LSU.....:roll1:

Yes because the SEC gets screwed many years because the population centers get the nod over the south. 2004 Auburn team would have SMOKED USC.

How is it fair to reward a terrible team for only out-pacing half of a conference? You honestly think they should be rewarded for sucking just a little less than the rest of the division, when CLEARLY they are inferior to 2-3 teams in the other division?

Laughable again. Any time one of the superpower SEC teams was knocked off, the underdog victor was skyrocketed up the polls.

Here I thought the SEC had been to 3 title games in half a decade. So 2004 equals 'many years'?
