Target Ruckert this year and he is a Buckeye. Don't throw it to the tight ends and he is not. Pretty clear.

I think that's 100% accurate. The good news is I do think Ruckert is going to be a regular target, how do you not throw to him after the year he had last year? I know every year we proclaim it to be the year of the TE and it doesn't happen, but I think it actually happened last year and nobody knew it because of how short the season was. He had 13 catches and 5 TDs...project that out over a regular season and you would be in the ballpark of 30 catches and 10+ TDs. That's a great season for any TE and with a new QB at the helm, you might see more dependence on Ruck.
Only 1 football and we have the best WR corps in the country, so we'll see...
It can still be done Bama has been able to do it, USC did it when Carroll was there, Miami had no problem doing it when they were successful. Whomever is the starting QB would have the most success if they utilized all of the skill positions and not just WR. Ruckert is too talented to not get at least 30rec and close to double digit TDs.
Going to commit on Thursday. Guess he does not need to see how many times they throw to Ruckert
Watching Tebow flail about made me appreciate how well Ohio State prepares it’s TEs to be well-rounded contributors regardless of how many times they’re targeted—and I think it shows in the number of Buckeye TEs still contributing in the NFL.
That said, I get why receiving stats would likely bump you higher in the draft and the money that comes with that being appealing, but it’s not like Ohio State hasn't had success at the position.
