2027 TN RB David Gabriel Georges (Verbal Offer)

Remember when the 'under the table' offers included a new job for mom or dad. Never thought of a house, etc. Guess would not have succeeded in the SEC. Do remember when many of tOSU players got 'jobs' at Darby Dan Farms, working for John Galbraith. Probably paid more than being the towel boy for PhysEd.
Yeah, these kids and their families aren't dumb. They see the same financial information we all do, not just about the school but about the boosters as well. They know what kind of money is being thrown around and want some sent their way.
You think UT would learn with Nico and Chaz maybe not do that. But stupid is as stupid does
I think their staff and boosters believe that this is the only way to keep up in the current climate. So yeah, stupid is as stupid does

Why are you confident in suggesting that the south can learn from mistakes?

Per 11w poster:
Someone on the Ole Miss board said he has a friend who’s a Big 12 DC and a Baylor school alumni and the friend believes it’s always been Ohio State. Said each school is offering over 6 million throughout the course of his college career which matches what the poster on the Georgia board said who claimed to be extremely close to the situation.

The poster on the Georgia board said the only difference between the Ohio State and Tennessee offers are how much he would make in year one (1.25 mil as a Freshman at Ohio State compared to 1.75-2 mil at Tennessee.)

Per another 11w poster:
I had heard that Tenn's offer was $6M over 3yrs, but that included $2M from Adidas. Whereas ours was $3.5M over 3yrs, but they have some things in the works that would bump our offer up to between $5M - $5.5M, and that the Staff feels very confident they can seal the deal. Here's hoping DGG sees the total package long term, and becomes a Buckeye!

Both look like positive scenarios for the good guys 8D

I know a guy that knows a guy.....and wonder how a publicly traded company like Adidas, can funnel cash to a university to buy a player? Have been out of corporate america for several decades. Oh wait. I see race cars sporting companies, and golf pros sporting many/several logos on their shirts/bags etc. Will this RB have to wear an Adidas patch on his uni? Sorry folks, answered my own question. Guess the Buckeyes are going to have to get Nike sponsor some NIL bucks to compete. Anyone remember Roller Ball (original with James Caan) where corporations sponsored games? Kinda sounds like we're getting there, or are there.

OSU has nothing to do with the deal. These kids have their own deals with Adidas. That's why JJ Smith can be sponsored by Adidas but still wear Nike as its sponsored by the actual football program. The best kids in college sports now are making a bulk of their NIL money from national brands and the deals are solely with them and independent of the collectives. My friend's daughter was the starting SG for OSU the last few years, she had NIL deals with: Hollister, State Farm, Beats, and Raising Cane's just to name a few. Those deals had nothing to do with the OSU collective
