Honestly, I think a young, hands-on coach like Herman might actually be able to overcome the Beck effect.
I've always felt like the problem with Beck was a distinct *absence* of coaching. Urban is no longer at that stage of his career where he was willing to micromanage the offense, and Warinner has always been best as a pure line coach.
If Herman can provide the actual coaching, while Beck sticks to the recruiting, the Tejas offense might have a chance.
