Anyone work in a Nike promotion for the Tiger Woods Rescue Clubs joke yet? I'm too lazy to look through the whole thread.

Nike Rescue Clubs... for while you're playing in the deep rough and after...

The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.

In other words, I want to be able to make $100 milliion in endorsements, and be left alone when I act like an idiot.

Time for somebody to fark a "Leave Tiger Alone!!" from the Britney thing.

Americans love their hero's a little tarnished. Let him fall from grace for this, suffer a bit, do a mea culpa come out the other side and he'll be more loved than ever. Ask A-Rod.

So he's a poon hound, big [censored]ing deal. Get on Oprah or doctor Phil, give a teary eyed admission, apologize to the old lady, beg for the public's forgiveness maybe do SNL(always good to show you can make fun of yourself/are a good sport) and its back to the manufacture of prodigious sums of money, winning tournaments and everyone talking about Phil's moobs.

Apparently you're not married / and / or / one of his mistresses was not your girlfriend or wife

This isn't about his so-called "image". If you cheat on your spouse you're a scumbag - whether you have a clean image or a scumbag image already.

this isn't about the media or his fans or anyone else besides him and his family.

And he deserves every bad thing that happens to him over this for breaking the trust of his wife and the vows he made to her.

I don't care how many women he sleeps with. I would imagine his wife does, though.

He should never have gotten married if he wanted to live this lifestyle, pure an simple.

Just for the past 12 years

There is no "so called", his image is his image. He makes millions off his image. If this was just some dickhead in the local neighborhood having a fight with his wife because he screwed around on her then I would agree.

Once you are a celebrity what the media/fans/adoring public thinks about you does indeed matter at the very least his endorsement partners care what the public thinks.

I agree, if you break the rules you pay the price and that's the process that's begun for him near as I can tell. My point is just that mainstream America will usually forgive a person when they fall from grace as long as they sense some remorse.

I'm sure no one gets married with intentions of screwing around on their spouse but the fact is it happens a lot. I don't condone it but in the grand scheme of things I personally give a shit about other people doing its not real high on the list.
