I'm sorry to inform you of some sad news concerning a member of our BuckeyePlanet family. As many of you are aware from a previous thread, FKAGobucks877's mother is very ill and battling cancer. She has now slipped into a coma and is not expected to make it through the end of this week. Obviously FKA, will be with his family at this trying time. The only blessing is that the family has known this eventuality was coming. They have had a short time to prepare and talk with a family member who will soon be passing on. That is not to say anyone can be prepared for such an event.
FKA, would like to extend his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to those who have extended their thoughts and prayers to him and his family throughout the past month or so. It is obvious that your PMs have touched FKA greatly. I would hope that as a group, we will understand if these PMs go unanswered. I think the well-wishes and requests for updates are serving as a constant reminder to FKA. A reminder that he could probably do without at this time. In that vein, I ask that you share your thoughts, prayers and well-wishes with FKA in this thread. He can view (and respond if he desires) them here and not get a constant flow of unexpected reminders in his PMs.
Some of you also may be aware of the other news in FKA's life. 2 weeks ago today, FKA became a father for (I believe) the first time. His son, Braeden Robert, was born on August 18, 2004, at 10:00 am. While I suppose this could be seen as some type of cruel irony, I hope that this tremendous blessing will lift FKA up and help to lessen the blow of losing a loved one.
I guess I will go first:
While working on the Game Previews with FKA, I have gotten to know him fairly well. I will miss his input, humor and personality for the time he is away. We will muddle through, but it won't be the same. I have no great words of wisdom that can comfort in a time such as this, except to say that FKA and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers ... and the thoughts and prayers of his family at BuckeyePlanet.
NOTE: I will try and post any updates on this thread if they become available. Also, this thread will probably be moved to the Open Discussion forum in the not too distant future.
