I know no one wants to hear this, but I popped in there as an "adult" and got a gyro... It was appalling. :lol: I mean even as late night drunk food it was massively questionable.

Now... I could easily attribute this to ignorance I suppose. This being the idea that perhaps I hadn't ever had better greek food and just didn't know any better. But that doesn't explain why Adriaticos, Moys, etc (and the ghosts of Tommy's, La Bamba Blue Danube would) still rock.

Varsity Club is also disappointing as a grown up. I have the suspicion though that its just not as good as it was. I had been there a few times in my late 20's or early 30's and I don't remember being disappointed...

Well, when one is young and inexperienced, the bar circuit can be fun. Revisiting, when experiences have risen, can be a downer. Had our 50th HS reunion, and Friday night was at the VC back patio. Yeah, not as exciting as was back when, but most of us were remembering the back whens. Speaking of late night food, the above had me remembering after a late night of imbibement in SF, group went to a dive fast-foot place, and had a couple very greasy corn dogs. Upchucked couple of times on way home, and haven't been able to look at a corn dog the same since.

Quick answer is no. That's not me endorsing, defending, criticizing or besmirching the guy, its just that I have interacted with him enough to know that he is an object in motion. My impression of him is that he's addicted to the process of University administration. Its unlikely that presented with a role that fits his life stage (in his opinion) I scarcely doubt he could say no even if he should.
