The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Also I have seen it suggested, multiple times, that the crazy fucker with the tattooed face that they free from the box car at Glen's insistence was the rapist from the "Then" flashback portion at the end...hence him coming out and screaming "We're the same!" before getting summarily eaten.
There has to be some connection to the people who locked up the original Terminus group and something. They wouldn't show that much of the Then and Now stuff without it. I was wondering if the rapist was somebody we had seen before.

Yeah, and it would make sense I guess with the whole cattle thing...calls into question how monsterish the group now is too, I suppose...

After watching the scene again, I think Tyreese did beat the guy to death. He was smashing his face pretty good and then after they cut to the outside of the shack you could still hear him punching away on the dude screaming. I don't think he's coming back now that I see it again.

I agree but I also caught the "No I won't" as in become a killer as he was punching him...he could have stabbed him, instead he just punched him...I don't think he's dead, and we saw no body. We shall see.

yeah, the "I won't" screams will be the point of contention. It was a viscous beating though, to be sure.

One more thing nobody has really touched on......this scientist dude that looks like Carl from Family guy. Everybody is trying to get him to Washington because he has a cure. Uh, he ain't got no cure . He's got an idea due to "drinks and information being shared and thinks he can flip the script." W.T.F. That's the cure? Dude thinks he can just roll into Washington and "tweak the controls" and wipe out all the undead. I mean, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

besides... wont "tweaking the controls" wipe out the entire human race since its been established that they all have the virus... it just needs death to activate it.

I meant to touch on that because I had said from the very beginning he does not have the cure. Hell, I think most of the group knows that...they were never concerned with getting him to D.C. like ginger tank dude. Even when he explained his "cure" the group did not look convinced at all. The whole "cure" clan (hot chick and ginger) has bought into it to the point of delusion...I think the only way for them to have any hope is to buy his story hook, line, and sinker.

But back to the bottle rocket...I'm not positive they were trying to suggest the bottle rocket blew it up. I think she was using as a diversionary technique (albeit that is freaking stupid and I don't get it)...only reason I say that is because she shot it straight up in the air and not even at the tank. Plus the explosion happened almost the second she shot it. If they were trying to suggest she got it with the bottle rocket, then that is freaking ridiculous...I won't suspend belief to that extent. And while I'm at it, there were some outrageous cliches and bad CG in that episode that were tough to ignore. The guy getting his face bitten off was absurdly fake...not sure how they messed that up because they did it back in Season 2 when they were at the bar Hershel went to and it was shot very well. Also, the "Then/Now" subtitles were so over the top and unnecessary...they could've progressed that without following sequence and not have been so cheesy. But as for that, on Talking Dead the producer said the crazy tattoo face guy that gets eaten was from the group in Terminus before...presumably the rape guy. And Talking Dead was awesome last night...I always enjoy Chris Hardwick, I think he is really funny in his own right, but Connan O'Brien was on the show and freaking killed me to the point that I hope he co-hosts it. They also confirmed that the Terminus people ("Termites") were cannibals, though we mostly knew that.

But aside from the points I already mentioned in my first point, the trough scene was absolutely chilling and grotesque...but kind of awesome. That might've been the grossest thing I have seen on the show, or close. The scene with the guy about to knife the baby was also very twisted and so is that entire Terminus crowd, but those haunting scenes led to some real gratification when Tyrese beats the guy to death(?), when Mary gets eaten alive and Carroll allows it, Rick knifing the guy in the neck and letting him turn, and Terminus going down in general. And to that point, I love psychotic Rick being brutal and ruthless...he essentially has now conceded to Shane's management style after killing him...big improvement over crop-planting Rick who hides guns and trusts everyone. Another plus is Morgan (the black guy that showed back up now from episode one and the one episode is back)...that guy is an incredible actor and has a very compelling story line, so I am excited to see what they do with him. But at this point I've just accepted that the show will have flaws but there are plenty of reasons left to watch it and be excited for it.

The only thing I question is how Carol knew that Terminus was bad news? She hears gunshots and instantly knows it's a trap?

She saw Rick and the others being trapped. But I'm not complaining - Carol did more in this one episode than Tyrese and a few other worthless characters from past episodes.

As an African-American I must say....I'm a bit surprised to say the least.

Two brothas, a couple of sistas and NONE of em have died yet? Check pockets - they must have lucky rabbit feet or something....dayum.

EDIT: Forgot Morgan. That's three. Means watch out Tyrese and Bob....the quota is waaaaay over.

Also - since it seems that the only person with any kind of a conscience right now IS Tyrese....he's next on the list to get whacked.

People with a conscience don't seem to last on this show (Dale, Hershel, etc...)

And Glenn by insisting they let the people out of the boxcar during the escape...he is a guy that will do what it takes but he can flip on the moral switch in the right situation. Idk, Glenn used to be way more interesting to me before the whole Maggie thing.

Eugene is a character from the comics. So, the question is whether they are going to take a different direction in the TV series than they did in the books. So far, as he and Abe are portrayed, I'd suspect they aren't diverging very far. Gene seems like an idiot savant to me, with the emphasis on idiot. The only reason I can see Abe believing him is that Abe is even more of an idiot.

If I'd been trapped in the boxcar with Eugene when he offered the response to the question about the cure that it was "classified" he'd have had a more immediate threat than zombies and cannibals to worry about. His explanation was gibberish. There's a long list of very specific questions I can think of that people could have asked him, but no one did.

Wondering how long he's going to last. Desperation will make people grasp at straws, but having a false hope revealed could tend to make one rather testy.

Didn't they overhear the guy talking shit about the lady with the sword and the boy with the hat? Anyways, I'm just hoping that the Katana makes its way back. Didn't get why Carole grabbed the crossbow but no katana ;(
