The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Pretty much everything about that episode was bad except for the slight twinge of joy experienced in seeing the garbage people get killed. And usually I am entertained by Simon. But the whole "MICHONNE" "NEGAN" etc. shit was ridiculously cheesy. Then yeah, the garbage people story just concludes with no real purpose or explanation. Then the whole stupid Aaron/Enid side story...the flip flop on killing them because Enid gives some lame 30 second bit about why killing them is bad. Michonne trying to put out the fire on that structure because Carl used to sit on it (like that is sooo important to the story). Poorly done in almost every respect.
And exactly where the fuck did Jadis get that bright white nightgown?

This is awful...everyone knows I am a huge fanboy ordinarily. But this season has been astronomically disappointing so far. I am beyond bored and I feel ok cancelling DirecTV this week. I won't be missing this.

I mean, obviously people have been stabbed using weapons used to kill walkers before the saviors’ plan to infect their weapons. Maybe it doesn’t infect 100% of the time like a bite does. While writing the first issue Kirkman probably didn’t plan ahead that far to think “hey, what if I write a story line that uses zombie guts infected weapons years in the future? I better think about that in case critics bring it up.”

The show requires a level of suspended disbelief, obviously bc it’s in a zombie apocalypse. Same goes for any comic based movie/show, including MCU, but they don’t get nearly the same flak. Don’t get it.

Or they could realize that reading a comic and watching a show are 2 different things. Crazy, I know.

There's a difference between suspended disbelief and just not being coherent from episode to episode. Maybe those other comic based movie/shows don't have such god awful writing.

And your example is backwards. You don't have think of how things will go in the future. You have to remember things you did in the past and realize the dumb idea you just came up with doesn't work because of those things. They literally coated themselves with zombie guts multiple times and are fine. None of that got into eyes or their mouths? None of them had any scratches? That's not suspended disbelief, it's suspended common sense.

Regarding your last point, you know what you don’t hear when discussing any of the DC or Marvel movies? “Read the comic”.

Whatever guys, I’m going to enjoy a show that stays relatively true to its source material in a character and genre which is KNOWN to be outlandish. If you nitpick everything to death, why even watch bc you’re never going to enjoy it.

Nothing in particular against either of you, but I tire of the amateur, wanna be tv critics everyone’s turned into recently.
