The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

This is just ignorant. Media doesnt control CFP... has nothing to do w/ AP (which has us reasonably at 5).
ESPN controls it; and to deny they've leveraged their significant monetary interest to get their tems in last 2 years is head-in-sand.

ESPN would pimp the Buckeyes HARD pre-BTN. Now you watch and, oh hey, Fox is the one singing our praises... Wonder why that could be?

And how do we quantify all the distractions effect on this team? And the amount of hatred stirred up by a single writer looking to make a name for himself? Or a university President who would have fired Urban just to make the university look better?
12 and 1 with a Big Ten Championship and a complete distruction of TTUN ranked in the top 4 should be a huge statement on this team and Urban.
But no! People had an agenda this year to "punish" what they perceived as a "rogue" program.

Sorry, but I can't be bothered to give a shit about irrelevancies. And whether Georgia or Ohio State is the "first team out" is the very definition of an irrelevancy.

Don't lose to a mediocre Purdue team and we're in. Hell, lose to them by 7 or 10 and we're in. Lose by 29? STFU.
Don't lose 2 games and not be a conference champ and you can be ranked ahead of a 1 loss conference champ.

Lose one game to Alabama in the SEC Champ and you're #5. Lose a second game other than that to an overrated LSU by 20? STFU.

Meh...this thread isn't one of BP's greater moments. It would've died a quick death shortly after the CFP announcement had the Buckeyes been one of the 4 teams selected to play in it, as fans ran to the Alabama game thread to talk about our chances.

Instead it's turned into a crusade for justice and fairness, strangely triggered only by the fact OSU was excluded no matter how many times the college football SJWs insist that has nothing to do with it. Keep telling yourselves you'd be looking out for the poor and downtrodden, screwed by the system, if OSU was set to play Alabama in the semifinal. Who knows, you may even convince yourselves...but you're never going to convince me.

Look this sucker up, tuck it into the administrative folder, and hope no one ever sees it again.
Listen. The Earth is NOT flat, no matter how many times you keep saying that it is.

It doesn't interest you. Cool. It interests some people on this board. That doesn't give you license to put words in their mouths:

Don't lose to a mediocre Purdue team and we're in. Hell, lose to them by 7 or 10 and we're in. Lose by 29? STFU.

A great percentage of those taking issue with the committee are not saying OSU should be in, but that OSU should be above Georgia. But you knew that already.

For the record OU sucks..... and is about to get jailhouse fucked for their unfortunate inclusion into the dance.

Still, this constant diversion away from what WE LOOKED LIKE to others is annoying.

C'mon, step forward and say, "This was a damn good year for the Buckeyes. They looked good this year."
It's not "unfortunate" if we win the conference and don't get beat by 30 to a .500 team.

You have to consider the source of the comment. I don't think many on here are taking issue with OU being included.
Many aren't taking issue, but some people are.

Hey, I totally understand the frustration of not being included in the playoff. Football is an emotional sport, not just for players, but for all the fans and also alumni of the schools involved. I too would have been upset if the CFP committee left out OU in favor of UGA. Sometimes we get too worked up about a decision that is beyond our control, especially as college football fans.

5 College Football Playoff Rankings Reactions, Thoughts, Analysis

(CFN link)

2. Ohio State didn’t get any respect

Consider what just happened here.

In the first four years of the College Football Playoff era, teams that won 12 games or more and a Power Five championship were 13-for-13 at getting into the CFP top four. Now it’s 16-for-17, and not only did the Big Ten champion get left out, it got put at six.

That makes it three straight seasons that the champion of – somewhat debatably – one of the two best conferences in college football couldn’t get its best team in.

That’s a problem.

Of course, Ohio State looked shaky, and of course the blowout loss to Purdue was the killer. However, the core criteria [sic] of the College Football Playoff ranking system comes down to whether or not you won your conference championship.

Ohio State can argue that it blew out Michigan and Northwestern, and Notre Dame struggled with both teams and didn’t have to play a conference championship game.

But again, there’s no arguing against the Purdue loss.

What the No. 6 ranking does say, though, is that the Buckeye blowout win over Michigan meant a fat load of jack squat.

It only moved up in the rankings last week because others lost, and Oklahoma was given as much credit for beating West Virginia as the Buckeyes did for blasting the No. 4 Wolverines.

And in the end, the committee liked Georgia better, too. But …

NEXT: There’s no real problem with the top four
