The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

As I said earlier, since the mid-90s, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia have competed for the National Championship under whatever system was in place. Twice, including last year, two SEC teams faced each other in that game.

Now, I would not expect this board to give any props the hated SEC for anything. But to say that Bama is viewed by the football world as the sole SEC power program, is simply untrue. When making a statement about how the football world sees the SEC, the opinion of Gator or Buckeye fans is entirely irrelevant. Of greater import is how the non-SEC and non-B1G fans view the strength of the conferences. And if you poll them, the SEC would be seen as stronger. Which can hurt tOSU, no matter the underlying truth of the opinion. Which was, I think, Ord's point.
You’re lying to yourself if you think this conference superiority bull shit goes back to the 90s.

It started about January of 2007. But the point remains, almost half of the SEC has played for the MNC since the mid 90s. But the larger point is..

Lol, sure. "Almost half the SEC" meaning 5 teams and Georgia. Fyi, Iowa and Wiscy have been relevant since the 90s too, who cares. Nobody threw out the conference card, you just saw a chance to play it yourself, and it looks like... that. S-E-C!

I’m good with UCF jumping us in the polls. Winning a prime time game on a slow day gave UCF a boost with the pollsters. Don’t honestly know who would win in a head to head. Maybe dropping in the polls gives Urban one more (he’s got lots of material to work with) edge to fire up the team. What a weird year being 10-1 and barely cracking the top 10.
