Something I realized last night at the game. With the departure of Waters, Buckeye Swag seems to have departed as well. I don't recall hearing it once this season and that's a shame.

Can't speak for the Illinois game, but they've definitely played it this season....

The high school band for Farrington HS here on Oahu, who is playing Mililani at this moment in the state football semi-finals, has played Buckeye Swag several times, and is playing right now as I type this...

Always brings a lump to this old throat.

Having been at the game, let me say that the AT&T is terrific, with one small criticism. The acoustics are such that the bands (both of them) are difficult to hear. Nonetheless, magnificent performance by TBDBITL, and the Buckeyes of course!

Of all the stuff that has gone on with the band over the last year, I am of the opinion that the university should be the most embarrassed by the band's behavior during the Oregon band's pregame performance. A number of OSU band members ran into the OSU endzone and encouraged OSU fans to cheer and ended up drowning out the Oregon band. It was extremely disrespectful to the Oregon band.

If the game was domination ..the Band vs Band was a first round knockout. No contest. OU Band=High School..and our local HS would give them a run for the money with just 50 members. Weak sauce!

Clearly the notion that band behavior was a "problem that needed to be corrected by new leadership" has not been effectively responded to by that new leadership.

Coach of Ohio State drum majors is charged with rape, kidnapping

The drum-major instructor for the Ohio State University marching band will appear in court on Thursday on charges of rape and kidnapping, accused of assaulting an OSU student earlier this month.

Stewart Kitchen, 28, of 2469 Indiana Ave., was charged today on the two counts, both first-degree felonies.

Court records say that Kitchen invited the woman to have drinks on April 15, then raped her after they went back to his University District house.

The court report says that she asked him to take her home numerous times, but that he refused, eventually forcing her to have sex in his bedroom.

The search for a new band director is not going much better with 2 of the candidates were trying their names from consideration. One was the University of Illinois band director and the other was from Auburn. This is usually the time of year that marching band directors start preparing their shows for the coming Fall.
