The Ohio State Baseball (Official Thread)

This should be a part of the "Other Ohio State Sports" section. This has definitively become a sport for warm weather universities and something that Ohio State will never compete for a national championship again. In fact, our 1966 championship was the last time that a cold weather school won the damned thing.

On the other hand, Men's and Women's hockey should have its own section (along with an NHL thread). After all, those two programs have been to the equivalent of Omaha six times in the last six years, including one championship. The last time baseball made it to Omaha was in...checks notes...1967. And even in crappy years these days, men's hockey doubles baseball in attendance. And if it matters, Columbus is an NHL town.

It was an up-and-down year overall for the Buckeyes, but they finished with a winning record of 31-25 thanks to their strong close. With a 9-15 record in Big Ten play, Ohio State did not qualify for the conference tournament and will be at home as the NCAA bracket unfolds. Nevertheless, the Buckeyes improved in Bill Mosiello’s first season as head coach after going just 20-30 in 2022. They’ll now enter the offseason with valuable momentum as they look to make it back to the postseason in 2023.

Positive start for Mosiello.....believe (?) pertaneer the same roster as Beal had. Don't know what tOSU loses, to either pros or eligibility, but hopefully can get some more/better talent to join the team. Hopefully we'll see more wins next year, certainly the players can see progress. Yeah, the conference wins were a tad shy of expectations, but expectations for any Buckeye team are always high. Need more hot arms and hot bats. Go Bucks!
