So, which of these remakes makes you cringe the most:

Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka?

Steve Martin as Inspector Closeau?

Adam Sandler remaking The Longest Yard?

Nicole Kidman making Bewitched?

Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane making a movie based on a play which was based on a movie?

Paris Hilton remaking House of Wax?

Jessica Simpson and other talentless actors re-imagineering The Dukes of Hazzard (the worst being Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg)?

That they're remaking The Bad News Bears?

Or, Cedric The Entertainer and Mike Epps as Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton in a hip-hop update of the Honeymooners?
I'll take Paris Hilton making it with The Bad News Bears for $500 please Alex...

If you can't get excited about Johnny Depp as Willie Wonka you just aren't trying. That will be worth the price of admission.

(I've been in love since Edward Scissorhands.)

I'm looking forward to Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Tim Burton is directing and I think he should put a very interesting spin on the story. You know with Burton that it will be a very visual movie with a lot going on.... I'm hoping it's good but these days you never really know.

They are supposedly putting in a backstory to explain how Wonka got as nuts as he did. Roald Dahl is one of my all time favorite authors-you can still appreciate his books as an adult, and catch some of the humor kids very well might miss.

Just saw "The Longest Yard" today....

It is so-so...not great, but not bad. If I hadn't seen the original, I suppose I would have liked it more.

Some shaky acting, some shaky script work.

Surprisingly, Michael Irvin was good...really good. Although his character wasn;t much of a stretch, he played it well.

There are some monster hits...that alone was worth the $6

It just occurred to me that we are knocking Adam Sandler for his performance in the Longest Yard relative to the original - starring Burt Reynolds. Has there ever been a worse actor than Burt Reynolds? (Boogie Nights excepted
of course.)

I actually really liked the Longest Yard. I thought it was hilarious and some of those hits and football scenes were pretty awesome to watch. then again, i havent seen the original, so maybe im not as biased to that. if you havent seen it yet, i would go see it if i were you. It is definitely a sweet movie to watch in the theatre with some buddies.

Grad- 6 dollars a ticket? where do you live? Iceland?

Some people get Burt, and some don't....I got him, too...unfortunately, I just opened the door for a Roger Moore reference.

Granted Jessica is a fine piece, but come on man, a blonde daisy duke? That's sacreligious.

I believe she wears a brunette wig in the film.

Uhhhh........

Ok, Depp is awesome. I will never argue that. But there are certain movies that are not meant to be remade. One of them is Willy Wonka. The other is WAR OF THE WORLDS!!!

That is not just a movie, it was the most incredible bit of entertainment ever. People committed suicide over that. So good ol' Stevie gets his hands on it, and decides to make a modern day shitpile. I hope I am wrong, but that is just something you cannot remake.

Everyone forgot the Miami Vice movie, but it seems that everything Jamie Fox touches turns to gold recently so it might end up good as long as they don't wear the white suits with the aqua t-shirts. I have liked every Colin Farrel movie I've seen, but I didn't see his portrayal of Greg Louganis this past winter. Homo
