Over the years Troy reminds me of a couple of undersized QBs, Woodrow Dantzler, Tommy Frazier, and Michael Bishop. Are there any others that come to mind?

I'm not too sure about Dantzler, but I'm pretty sure Smith is far and away a better passer than all those guys. Frazier was a freak athlete and a great runner - Troy isn't quite on that level as a runner.

Once again, I'm not all that sure about Dantzler, but those other two are option quarterbacks. While OSU runs option plays, I'd say Troy is more of a a quarterback with scrambling abilities. I'd even hesitate to call him a "scrambling quarterback" now. This year's scUM game, he did almost all the damage with his arm, and the best play he made with his feet resulted in a completed pass.
