son and I played Thursday afternoon - he out drove me on 2 holes - i'm not a long hitter by any standard - about 260 on a good day, but probably average 240 - both holes he passed me I hit about 245ish, his were about 260 - he's still learning and therefore inconsistent, but I'm thinking next year I'm going to have to make him play from the tips to give me a chance :slappy:

I played with a friend on Saturday evening, i played pretty solid - for me, shot a 45 (+10) - i knew i left some shots on the course, but was pretty happy. i went out yesterday morning with my son, played okish, but had 2 "blow up holes" but finished par, par, bogey - shot a 46. went back out yesterday afternoon, played really well, hitting fairways, birdied the lone par 5 - 2 long puts made to save par, and even one putt from the fringe to save par after a horrible chip - bogey the last hole to end the 9 at 40 - by far my best round of the year - and the 2nd best round of my life (I shot a +4 back when I was a teenager, LOL)

my son starts afternoon football practice today (its been morning conditioning/lifting all summer), so now we wont' get to golf together nearly as much since we'll be limited to Saturday/Sunday - We had been playing 4-5 times per week this summer, I will still continue to play, but his time will be limited - I still have some PTO left, so who knows maybe i'll take a day or two so we can play a few more rounds

Wife and daughter do not golf, but yesterday the whole family went out to the course,. My son and i played from the tee to the green, then the girls putted for us - it was a fun afternoon, the girls got very frustrated with how the putts would break, how difficult it was to guess how hard to hit the ball, ect. My son and I each chipped in (on separate holes) and the girls were mad they didn't get to putt, LOL

Tried to teach wifey how to play golf early in our marriage, but decided we'd rather stay married. PS, she did much better job teaching me how to ski....
Taught wife how to golf and ski early in our marriage. We’ve gotten a little on the plus side of age for downhill skiing. She never really enjoyed golf even though she was good. Always said she felt to much pace of play pressure.

My wife tried to learn to golf when she was little, her grandfather tried to teach her, but nobody would get her lefty clubs, so she tried to learn right handed - it didn't work well. She never really liked it, but she enjoys putt putt. she likes to go out with me from time to time and drive the cart

she tried to teach me tennis, but my baseball background wouldn't allow me to swing without trying to hit it over the fence :slappy:

You bring back memories.....when we were courting, wife would come along with me on the golf course. Fun, and of course, had to try to hit some shots to impress my wife-to-be. As soon as the "I do's" finished up, so did the ride-alongs. Other than dinners and/or Friday evening imbibements, she hasn't gone to the course with me since. That's OK, I don't go to her exercise classes either....
