brutus, if you want to get your 10,000 steps in, just hit the first ball a fade, then a hook, then a fade, and repeat. You'll get your steps in in nine holes, so the second nine will be bonus steps. Been there, done that, it works.
LOL - i used to play what i called Army golf (left, right, left) - I'm hitting them *mostly* straight these days. We played 9 holes yesterday, i missed a 8' birdie put on the 1st hole, but made the tap in par, was feeling good - proceeded to not hit another fairway (missed by a few yards) - and didnt have another birdie putt the rest of the round.

It's called golf, guy. What you do one day, most probably won't be repeated day two. Have been playing well, over last month (shot my age, and sub-80's four times), so comes up to the Senior Tournament, this Friday, and my game has gone into the crapper. Took a day off of play with my group (team play for $), and spent couple of hours trying to recapture the good swing I had. It comes and goes, so don't sweat it. PS, keep working, because those shots requiring you to hook ball out of the rough onto the green (from behind a tree), will pay off for you sometime. Has always amazed me, how the pros play those trouble shots, when you gotta know, they don't practice them much. Anyway, it's a great walk in the park, absorbing all that vitamin D. PS, a lesson or two won't hurt. My guru gives me a written summary of what worked on (usually my choice), so can refer back to it as needed.

my son went out with some of his buddies yesterday afternoon, and said he already held his own with a few of the kdis from the golf team, two of them tried to recruit him to come play, to which he laughed because around here, golf season is in the fall, same as football, and there is no way he's giving up football, LOL

The boy and I are going to Firestone next Friday for the Champions (Senior) tour event, simply because he wants to see John Daly . Cool thing is that since its a senior tour event, the tickets are cheap ($32), and since he's under 18, he's free to get in. Should be a fun way to spend a Friday afternoon. The really cool part that I haven't told him yet, is that I'm still friends with some members, so we'll have clubhouse access without paying for it. Its not a really big deal, just opens up the whole place (minus locker room) so chance to maybe meet some of the guys.
