THE GAME: ttun @ tOSU, Sat Nov 26, 12pm, FOX

Tick tock 1st trip back to The 'Shoe since 2018...can't back out of this one you bunch of bitches

77-0
I wonder how many starters have never played in the ‘Shoe before. McCarthy for sure. That kid’s in for a rude awakening. Things are going to be a little more hostile than at Kinnick. Their only other two road trips this year were at Indiana and Rutgers.

What a strange year this has been. I think you could argue that LB is the only position group that outperformed their preseason expectations. Corner has been OK at best (the funny thing is they could conceivably win a title w/out playing 1 really good passing offense), DL was largely solid but didn't break out and be dominant the way people were hoping, Trey was being discussed as the best RB in the country and was arguably the 3rd best RB on the team (injuries obviously a factor but also playing through nagging stuff is part of the job of a back) WR was very good but they essentially replaced JSN with Fleming which is a meaningful downgrade, OL was inconsistent with moments of disaster, even Stroud has obviously been good but I don't think he was better than he was last year. Oh well. We're on to ttun. Yuge, yuge game for Ryan Day.
We probably can’t reach our ceiling. Injuries lack of growth at certain positions have prevented the team from being its best. But our floor is 11-0, with marginal improvement we can still beat UX and then it’s all good .

Yup. I do think this team overall is better than last year though. 2021 was basically the best OSU passing attack ever dragging the corpse of the Buckeye defense and run game to a 12-2 Rose Bowl win. This team feels much more balanced in terms of how they can win imo. They get to the CFP and they have a legit shot to take it.

That’s exactly it. We have had too many injuries to be consistent. And consistency is everything in performance.

I honestly believe in the team with Hayden starting. I believe in the team with the known injured players being out. The team needs consistency at starters, even if they are much less undeveloped than the injured first stringers they are replacing. I had a commander that used to say, “you go to war with what you have, not what you want.”

12 gauge was the perfect example of that.

Seeing a wider range of lines for this game than for any I can remember. MGM wants you to lay 13.5 to bet the Buckeyes, Caesar only requires a touchdown, others somewhere in between.

My intuition tells me that straight up DSA will probably favor the wolverines slightly, but it will be very close.

Vegas has favored the Bucks over the Weasels more than DSA has all season though, since long before Corum had an injury that made him let go of the ball in pain 1/2 hour before he bulled a pile forward for five yards.

Just win the damn game.

We owe them and the way over the top reaction to the game last year. No more glorifying TTUN.
Anyway possible . If they have to throw it 60 times, if they need to block a punt, stop a 4 th down. Style out the window. Slug it out. It’s not been pretty lately but they have overcome even if it’s sometimes self inflicted.

Don't know about the bonafides here, but someone retweeted this into my feed.

https://sicscore.com/cfb/updates/blake-corum-injury-michigan-running-back-exits-after-hit-to-knee

"Based on multiple video angles, the injury mechanism is consistent with an MCL sprain with a possible bone bruise, according to the Pro Football Docs.

Either way, he is likely to miss next week's massive matchup against No. 2 Ohio State."

I'm not an orthopedic surgeon (or any kind of doctor for that matter), but I did spend most of the last 5 years designing orthopedic surgery robots, so I had to learn a thing or two.

If you want to see an "injury mechanism ... consistent with an MCL sprain", watch video of JT Barrett's injury a few years ago (not the broken leg obviously). He was hit from the side and his leg went slightly valgus. The team confirmed after the bowl game that it had been an MCL sprain; I knew it when they showed the slow motion replay.

Corum's leg did not go valgus; there was no obvious strain on the MCL. Might it still be an MCL sprain? Sure. I'm not sitting here with Corum's MRI results. But the "injury mechanism" is consistent with an ACL tear or possibly a patella tendon injury, though the former is more likely. Who ever wrote the above should have talked to an actual doctor, or at least someone with significant knowledge of knee anatomy.

This year's meeting will be the 118th between Ohio State and Michigan in a rivalry that dates back to 1897. It is the most bitter rivalry in all of sports. It is the greatest rivalry in all of sports. As it has been many times during The Game's history, everything is on the line in this one.

It's Ohio State. It's Michigan. It's time for war.
