Now then, I remember standing in front of the Varsity Club around 10 on a gray November Day, sticking my thumb out to hitch a ride back to Kettering and the first car, a green mid fifties Plymouth coup, pulls over and picks me up. I toss my bag in the back and climb in and the driver turns to tell me, "someone took a shot at the President." We didn't say a word to each other for the next hour and a half as we wound our way through London, Cedarville, Wilberforce, Xenia and finally Kettering. All the while listening to the tragedy develop out of Dallas. That night it was announced that the Ohio State - Michigan game was postponed and would be played a week later, after Thanksgiving, 1963. The Bucks won and I think Kennedy would have wanted it that way.

I like how more and more letters in that state's name get bleeped out as the week goes on. I think by Thursday they should just ge referred to as
"********" and by Friday night, it's simply "shitbarf". Actually, I have a friend whose dog eats cat poop, and then it barfs. That dog's shitbarf smells exactly like ********.

Besides, "it's ____ o'clock and shitbarf still sucks" has a nice ring to it.
