I took my midterm test today in Coach Tressel's football coaching class. This was his quote 'Ok I'll hand this over to coach jefferson now because doing well on the midterm is all you care about, and beating michigan is all I care about' I thought I'd pass that along. He was wearing the scarlet sweater vest today :osu:

Nah. Shart is the name that was given to Michael Shaw after he tried to start stuff with Schwartz in the tunnel last year. Following in the footsteps of another punk RB named Michael.

ok Shaw= Shart
Mike hart = Bike Hart

Bike Hart did try to start shit in 07 at scUM pregame also. What a bunch of douchebags.

Thanks for the reminders guys.

FUCK scUM!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one happy that Denard gives tsun some actual hope? After all, Wolverine land's collective soul has to be in it to be crushed. Plus, THE GAME in 2008 was the worst I've ever been to. tsun was so terrible the atmosphere before and during THE GAME lacked what makes my favorite day every year so great. The chance of loosing brings out the tension, anxiety, and passion that can only exist when you feel protetive of your own soul being crushed.

Go Bucks! Beat Blue!
I seriously don't understand this post at all. Ohio State won The Game by 35 points in 2008 ... and you're worried about the atmosphere? 2002 was enough "tension, anxiety, and passion" to last me a lifetime, thank you very much. I'll take a good old woodshedding any day ... and especially on the 3rd/4th Saturday in November.

When the "chance of losing" actually becomes a reality (and it will, some day, no matter how distant that possibility might seem today), then you might want to re-visit your opinion on this matter.

If I'm watching Auburn-Alabama, I want a competitive game....

If I'm watching Miami-Florida State, I want a competitive game....

If I'm watching Georgia-Florida, I want a competitive game....

If I'm watching Ohio State-Michigan, I want the Buckeyes to win by 50.... If the rest of the country gets bored seeing us pummel them into submission, then too freaking bad - change the channel, go watch figure skating or something.

By the way, ask Notre Dame fan which "atmosphere" he likes better:

(A) Beating a hapless Navy team 43 times in a row (1964-2006) by an average score of 36-12 with nine shutouts, or

(B) Losing three of the last four to the Mighty Midshipmen.

If Ohio State should ever have the good fortune of beating Michigan 43 times in a row, then I might start to get just a little bit bored of the rivalry ... at least until the opening kickoff of the 44th Game, at which time I shall immediately start calling for JT III to start lubing up the old plunger.

I have to repost this old post of mine each year as it is undefeated..and no one should ever fuck with a winning streak. So...here it is, again...

Raise your helmet Buckeyes. Raise your voices Buckeye Nation....this is it.

The ball hangs there against the blue sky for a moment... peaceful. Arcing thru the sky and landing...

in hell. Intensity? HA! You have no idea unless your heart is firmly in the hands of either OSU or UM. This is the standard. This is Ohio State Michigan. No need for the ?versus? or the ?and? in the middle. In this game the two warriors become one to the outsiders. Fitting in that this is an inner battle. True, it is fought on the field, but at the expense of the nerves and the minds of the combatants. It is a mental game before it becomes a physical game. Waiver or doubt and you are beaten.

This is what it is all about.

The crowd shakes the earth and the hits jar consciousness. The pain is forgotten...VALHALLA AWAITS!!!

Sure, these kids chose OSU or UM because they love the school and are passionate about the tradition that is woven into each university's core. But make no mistake: the beginning and end of the thread used to construct all that is OSU and UM is the rivalry. With out each other we are just two more big ten teams. Leaning on each other in battle we become two of the greatest and most renowned boxers in the game, thanks to THE GAME.

Coach speak tells us every game is critical and we want to beat everybody. The faithful are not fooled...we want M*ch*gan. The rest of the games are just the means that justify the end. Another year and the final closing chapter becomes the prelude to the NEXT year. THE GAME is upon us. An era comes to an end for the seniors. They will be remembered for their record against UM more so than their overall winning percentage.

Heroes will be made. Lives will be changed, and not just on the field. This is about passion, pride and respect. Self worth hangs in balance for literally millions of people. Think I am kidding? Sounds too extreme? Check yourself and think again. Win and feel at ease. Lose and doubt fills the gaps in our lives. Really. Subconsciously or straight up in our thoughts and prayers...it is that significant. Being a Buckeye is part of how we are defined by those around us. It is part of our character. It is who we are. It is how we are often introduced to new people....I'd like you to meet a friend of mine..he went to Ohio State and is a BIG Buckeye fan...I see by your resume that you went to Ohio State. How about those Buckeyes? Think they will beat M*ch*gan this year?

Beat M*ch*gan.

The words bring chills to all of us, no matter the context, no matter the time. Utter those two words in any setting and thoughts are immediately drawn to November. UM fans can say we are just another game. For all I care they can even believe that. For me, it is on the line Saturday. The joy of victory or the agony of defeat. I can't claim a role in the outcome, but I will have tears on my checks just like the kids in the trenches whose effort won or lost the day. I am there. I am the rivalry.

Are you ready? After Saturday we wind the countdown back to 364 days and start over. This is the time. This is "why". We waited all year for it.

What are you going to do today to BEAT M*CH*GAN?

I think you are interpreting what I said as to mean I would not prefer a blowout. Of course I would. Embarrassment can be a beautiful thing. What I was pointing out was the unbearably subdued atmosphere, especially before THE GAME. A blowout is one thing. A pregame feeling like a normal college football game is another.

And if you think Michigan has no chance this week you only need to look at the history of this rilvary to find many examples of upsets bigger than what would have to occur Saturday for Michigan to win. Even last year's game was in doubt midway through the 4th quarter. Michigan has a whole different level of firepower this year.

All that being said I do expect to win this week. Partly because we are the superior team, but mostly because of Tressel. 1995 and 1996(my first Michigan game when I was 12) and the entire Cooper era caused that.

There are few things I love more than hating Michigan, especially one week in November every year.

I want ...

I want....to see a Jason Gesser-esque body slamming of the lace-less wonder

I want...to see any combination of Boren, Browning and Brewster pancake the curly-haired fuck known as Mike Martin right on his backside just like last year on BSaine's TD run

to apologize to LJB that the following post sat there for almost an hour without a GPA.
