The Game, tOSU at ttun, Nov. 27th,12pm FOX (3654 down to 0)

Cover the TE and RB in the passing game. I don't think they can beat us on the outside. I still worry about the run D. Stopping walker was big, but the way the game went had something to do with that as well.

They have not really beat anyone outside all season

Biggest "threat" Cornellius Johnson has 534 yards and 3 TD on the season.

His best performances came against NIU (3/117) and Indiana's corpse (5/108)

Then you get a mess of WRs with 10-20 catches who did not do much of anything save for maybe a flash in the pan performance against a bad team.

The biggest risk I see if the OSU defense before it has a big lead to work with. We have all seen opponents go right down the field, convert multiple 3rd downs and generally do, controlled, damage until the offense makes them play one handed.

The bad scenario for OSU is if tsun can come out riding the emotion and home crowd and stay in it more like Penn State and Nebraska did or even, Woody forbid, get a lead. Their offense is going to be a problem vs the OSU defense with less than a 14 point lead.

Similar to the lead up to the last two weeks, it's a match up of contrasting styles so it's really hard to predict and likely to be all or nothing. If tsun keeps it close they are a legit threat to win. If OSU goes all Purdue/MSU on them early, there is now way that tsun offense can play from behind well at all.

I will say that, generally, the more talented team can usually impose it's will/style in these kind of games and there is no question who has the better talent at almost every position.
The first four weeks we wasted 1st quarter possessions..Day in feel out mode and get Stroud comfortable and over his high wide early tendencies. When Day realized our D was fragile..he goes full attack mode from the whistle and we get our D in a comfortable situation.

I'm changing my answer. It's actually this roid raging CTE case:

“Michigan by a billion, buddy," Lewan said. "We’re gonna take it at home. We’ve won three in the last 20 years. Who cares? New year, Michigan is gonna play tough. They’re gonna play the best game they’ve ever played. Ohio State has gotta play a little down. I get it. They’ve got a lot of talent over there. They’re studs. I beat them once — almost beat them twice, beat them once. But I’m saying Michigan by a billion. I’m calling it now.”

I almost think it's a situation where certain football paths cross over time and because of their culture it just won't take. Think about it.... Meyer is on fox talking to Charles Woodson about how they have to blow it up and start over. Other than keeping the overpaid awkward kid at a lower wage, isn't that what they did?

Enter douche canoe and his comments. Mike Vrable strikes me as the sort of guy who teaches a certain "kiss my fucking ass" style of football... one can see where a rapist befriending, wrestling federation bleeding like a pussy on cue, semen enthusiast might take the lesson too far and start doing what comes naturally... being a Michigan man

They have a type.

Fuck them
