The Game, tOSU at ttun, Nov. 27th,12pm FOX (3654 down to 0)

Nah it’s just general anxiety for me. 2019 was arguably the most talented team in my lifetime while SCUM was merely ‘okay’ and I was still sweating bullets before the game.

Just the way it goes.

Same. And that game showed that even with a truly great team, the preparation and emotional made it closer than expected for a half. Ride out their early game plan and rush of adrenaline and keep swinging the whole game.

I lived through the 90's. You're damn right I'm anxious.

I was asked if I’m nervous and I started to say “Hell no, it’s going to be a slaughter.” — had to catch myself and bring it back down a notch. The enemy shouldn’t sleep. Even if they are sleepwalking, we should assume the giant has awoken out of nowhere at all times. Take nothing for granted with this.

Ever.

I haven't watched a ton of them but from what I can tell...

TTUN -OSU
DL v OL - Push to slight advantage OSU.
OL v DL- OSU
WR v DB- Push
DB v WR- OSU big
RB v LB - Push to slight advantage TTUN
LB v RB - OSU advantage
QB v QB - OSU BIG

Special Teams- Push

Put like this I just dont know where they'd have an advantage? Their DL is their strength but our OL neutralizes their biggest strength. Their run game is their strength on offense but we stop the run very well.

Biggest mismatch is Stroud and our WRs vs their DBs. So really if we can protect #7 then it's not a ball game.

The biggest risk I see if the OSU defense before it has a big lead to work with. We have all seen opponents go right down the field, convert multiple 3rd downs and generally do, controlled, damage until the offense makes them play one handed.

The bad scenario for OSU is if tsun can come out riding the emotion and home crowd and stay in it more like Penn State and Nebraska did or even, Woody forbid, get a lead. Their offense is going to be a problem vs the OSU defense with less than a 14 point lead.

Similar to the lead up to the last two weeks, it's a match up of contrasting styles so it's really hard to predict and likely to be all or nothing. If tsun keeps it close they are a legit threat to win. If OSU goes all Purdue/MSU on them early, there is now way that tsun offense can play from behind well at all.

I will say that, generally, the more talented team can usually impose it's will/style in these kind of games and there is no question who has the better talent at almost every position.

Same time though vs PED and Corn our defense played fairly well even though there wasn't a large lead.

More or less if we continue to do well in the RZ and if we can stop their run that'll go a very long way for us.

Big hat tip to their QB for providing motivation for the ultra-talented individual players on Ohio State’s defense, and especially the DL, to play with even more fire, which will hopefully offset any lingering schematic issues.
