"Michigan's 40 points were its most in a game against Ohio State since scoring 58 in 1946, and is tied for the 4th-most points the Wolverines have ever scored against Ohio State"

Damnit Silver Bullets, what ingredient were you missing to play up to this game? In 1946 Michigan beat up an OSU team that was overseas, recovering after they put a whipping on the Nazis. At least they had an excuse.

Dude, were you pissing and moaning after the "silver bullets" gave up 39 points in 2006 and made it to the BCS "NCG"?

Doubt it.

Orhian was replaced for a reason though early in the year. Moeller hasn't been the same this year either. You cap that off with Bryant/Barnett/Howard who look a little lost in coverage and you just don't have the secondary we've had in the past. I just don't buy the excuse that had we been healthy on defense we would've been that much better from a wins loss standpoint. I guess it couldn't hurt but again every team just isn't that healthy right now. They did what they could but I for one won't throw out excuses for just not getting the job done.

Agreed to an extent. But I feel as if our secondary had an eye towards Robinson that may not have been there as often if we had N. Williams, Sweat, or Bell (had he not been in trouble). If you think of the steady attrition and injuries from spring on we had N. Williams, Sweat, Bell and McVey (could have provided depth at LB), and Bryant out today. Plus Shazier and O. Johnson for some of the game. Throw that on top of Moeller not playing the same after his injury and the fact that we lost 8 starters from last season, and I can't see how the defense stood a chance at that point.

Actually yes and no. I bitched and moaned and cheered.

Sorry, I love the Buckeye defense and I hate when any team scores more than 10 on them.

Braxton Miller is a beast, and once he starts hitting a few more of his open receivers he'll be unstoppable.
especially the deep balls

Boom was a huge disappointment today. Completely outplayed by Touissant. Difference of the game, imo.

Oh well, worst tOSU in 20 years almost beat the best Meeeechigan team in 5 years. New streak will start next year.

Losing Bell as well as Williams IMO were the largest blows to our defense. We are young, plain and simple. Will we be amazing next year? I bet we are better, and I bet our front 4 is tremendous. In saying that though I'm not a huge fan our 3 of our 4 guys when it comes to their coverage skills in the secondary, as well as 2 of our LB's ability to do either coverage or run coverage. If we can find one more LB to step up and one more Secondary player to step up I think we can be a great defense next year, but if do not have anyone step up I see a defense that will be mostly good but prone to a few big plays a game.

Question... Why do you have a VT decal in your signature? I ask because I use to live close to campus there and lots of my close friends are big hokie fans.

Enjoy your win scUM fans, you beat one of our weakest teams I've seen in years, in your house with the 2nd biggest crowd in your history. Savor the flavor ladies because next year there's going to be a new sheriff in town, our QB will be a year better, our team will be stronger and you're going to be playing in OUR house. Our next scUM winning streak starts in 363.

This defense had to carry the team for most of the year. The LB/DB corps was very young and on Saturday Shazier had to play on one leg along with a couple of others who had to step up and play out of position. You can't hide that forever.
