Somehow this board will just have to survive the first couple of game weekends without him.

I cross posted this in the cold weather thread, but I think it should be posted in this thread as well.

I think this year's version of THE GAME is more important than is being acknowledged in these forums. scUM is a bad team with a terrible defense. We are SUPPOSED to beat them. A loss would mean that scUM has regained the momentum, with a new coach for both teams. Remember JT changed the momentum of the series within a year of first assuming the role of the HC. That was not an easy thing to do, especially for a first year coach.

I always look at the doomsday scenario, and it seems Hoke is a good coach so far. Mattison is definitely a good coach. I checked out his history, and he was the co-DC at scUM during the Cooper days, and then Florida's DL/DC during the 2006 beatdown. Jury's still out on Borges.

We definitely can't let them retake the momentum guys. We need to shut them out like we did last year. I think we can do it. Go Bucks! :osu:

Don't forget this game was almost in the middle of the season. This is the first cross-division game between these teams. We NEED to hit them in the mouth. We have to shut them down.

If Fickell walks out of this game like he should, he will go out on a high note. It is very very unlikely he will coach after this season, and his season will be forever remembered based on the result of this game.

It's called THE Game for a reason.
