For this reason, I would use Sonny Styles as a Spy on JJ. Last year's game drove me nuts when Sawyer would rush too deep (up field) past the pocket, JJ spins out, steps up, moves right and then is a double threat. They HAVE to adjust for that this year because he's still not a huge threat to beat us from the pocket. And along with pass rushing with gap integrity, they have to do the same thing with run defense. These backs get a ton of their yardage by bouncing out a run that was designed to go off of guard or tackle but the whole isn't there because shitty or undisciplined linebackers have over pursued.

It also helps that we schematically rush much shallower and maintain contain outside this year compared to last. Sack numbers are low, but we actually have one of the best pressure rates in the country. We could have more sacks, but Knowles prioritized pressure that doesn't leave us vulnerable to big scrambling lanes for the QB. That and the changes we made in the back end to keep plays in front of us were put in place specifically for this week. I personally think Knowles locks up the Broyles award this week.

I think it was the College Football Nerds game preview that mentioned how much they've been rolling into the blitz lately. Apparently they had a knack for rolling away from the blitz up until the last couple weeks. Wonder what changed....

The one that inflicts the most emotional trauma on the DFBIA (whatever it may be) is just a bonus.

Except for 1-0, which means the Cheaters will forfeit. I’m only OK with them forfeiting past games.

I think the entire college football universe laughing at them and saying that it was all a fraud is what will hurt them the most. They can rationalize and excuse defeat; we've seen that most of this century. Being a national laughingstock will break their brains more than the scandal already has.

I take comfort in knowing that half of those fuckers would be in greatest pain by a blowout loss and the other half of those fuckers would be in the greatest pain with losing in a walk-off FG or something like that. Anything so long as it is a W for the good guys and I will be fine as will all of us in S&G.
