Game Thread THE GAME: Ohio State 42, Michigan 7 (Nov. 22)

The Offensive Line's pass blocking has been good today. Run blocking has been bad, and it has been for most of the last several years.

Rehring has failed to make a single block on many plays. Brewster still has a ways to go.

I know this has been discussed, but who has the responsibility for calling blocking assignments? The Center? The QB? What about for players blitzing off the edge?

Traditionally it has been the Center's responsibility to call blocking audibles but this year I believe Cordle is doing it from Guard

I just looked at ESPN's College football scoreboard and Florida is playing Citadel.....WTF? Are they scared to play a tough team at the end of the year in fear of being screwed by the BCS. I hope non of their starters are even playing

To be fair though whats the difference between playing The Citadel now rather than playing Youngstown State in the beginning. But you're right it's just insane they're playing games this late in the year against a team like the Citadel.

TP is still thinking out there and not reacting. It is obvious that JT has started the maturation process of developing him into a fine QB. However, that process takes time and TP is still a work in progress. TP is a beautiful piece of marble and it will take some time before he is "The Statue of David" or Terrelle in this case....

I would like to see us do the following:

  1. Throw on first down, some short slants, TE pop pass, etc.
  2. Continue to blitz...
  3. Go after a punt block...we are very close to getting there...

4. Maybe run some screens. We've got some young kids that are burners. Maybe a PA to Beanie going one way with Trips on the other side and then throw back to a speedy WR. Maybe I play too much NCAA though.

Again, they play FSU next weekend. Imagine running the SEC gauntlet, playing FSU out of conference, and then scheduling another big OOC game.

I don't think anyone can question their schedule.

They are going to sell out against the run all day long trying not to let Beanie take over or Pryor to break one. Simple. Smart. Thats what I'd do against us. The passing game is there. Their Dbacks are awful. Any passing game we want to get going we should be able to. Hartline is wide open every time downfield. I see him getting another one before its over.

I want to see coach "welcome" DickRod to the rivalry this second half and stomp on their throats for a blowout win. Our seniors deserve it.

Somehow our defensive scheme looked different on TSUN's scoring drive. Where we trying to see if we could shut their running game down with a three-man or four-man front?

Something just didn't seem the same. The intensity at the LOS seemed to not be there for that series.

tressel might go down as the best OSU coach ever, but unfortunately, performances like this first half are just part of the deal.

the only times we blow teams out like our talent should dictate is when defense and special teams give us scores or huge turnovers. this offense and playcalling holds the players back.

its great to want to make terrelle a pro-style qb and all, but it's incredibly hard to believe that you have an athlete like THAT back there, and you don't use it to your advantage at all in putting pressure on the defense by rolling him out and making the d account for his ability to run. you can see that scrambling is the last thing on pryor's mind when he's sitting in the pocket, and that's not smart.
