Game Thread THE GAME: Ohio State 42, Michigan 7 (Nov. 22)

2 of the sacks were a combo of good coverage and Pryor holding the ball too long

the offensive line looked like they were starting to put it together a little there on our last couple of posessions

They completely wiffed on that last sack. They've had maybe one or two good protections on passes this game. That's it.

I remember scUM hanging in there for the first hafl with Penn St. Does anyone remember what happened in the 2nd half of that game? We just need to make sure that we come out on defense and dominate for three plays. Hopefully, TP and crew will pick it up.

they were with Illinois at the half as well, and were blown out of water in the 2nd half

I just hope Tressel and staff mix things up in the second half and go with the short dumps and let our players make the play. I don't know why Pryor is always looking deep. He's done it quite a bit in the first half. Keep the chains moving and drain their defense with Beanie. It can't be that difficult.

It is when they sellout against the run and leave you in 3rd and longs and force the QB to make plays.

So far this season Terrelle has been great in 3rd and long, but today has been difficult. Give UM some credit, but to go 3 and out 2 times at the 50 is ridiculous.

It's just been an awful day so far for the O with exception to Banie's long run.

The D has played well, but it helps that UM is running a read option offense with their backup QB. This game really has no business being close. Michigan has to be VERY VERY happy at the half.

That's why they get paid the big bucks.

Three Things I'd like to see in the second half-

1) Make an adjustment strech run play to the right side by Minor. The only two good runs that they had were on this play. (The long run and the TD)

2) Lets not rush 3 ever. Minor is not even close to the goal line if Sheridian doesn't make that 3rd and 15.

3) Tell TP if the pass is not there to go ahead and run.

The Offensive Line's pass blocking has been good today. Run blocking has been bad, and it has been for most of the last several years.

Rehring has failed to make a single block on many plays. Brewster still has a ways to go.

I know this has been discussed, but who has the responsibility for calling blocking assignments? The Center? The QB? What about for players blitzing off the edge?

I just looked at ESPN's College football scoreboard and Florida is playing Citadel.....WTF? Are they scared to play a tough team at the end of the year in fear of being screwed by the BCS. I hope non of their starters are even playing.

They've got FSU next week. FSU isn't what they once were, but it's still a good out of conference game.

Cripes, settle down for fuck's sake people. ScUM has played many teams close in the 1st half. This is a rivalry game, blowouts are very few and very far between. They have no QB and their defense is gonna wear down. This woe is me attitude from some of you people gets old.

I just sent someone a PM. Please, guys, game thread whining is met with an infraction most weeks, and especially so this week. By all means, point out what's wrong, but no more whining, okay?
Temp bans are where it's at today.

If we come out strong in the second half and hit a few big plays right away, the scUM sideline may actually implode.

TP has yet to really tuck it under and take off down the field. I suspect that we will see a bit more of that in the 2nd half.

scUM is loading the box. Hopefully we'll make the proper adjustments but I really think TP needs to take off when he has a wide open field in front of him and that will loosen things up. Regardless, we'll still get 2 or 3 big plays in the second half.

Our Defense and Special teams coverage is doing well. I expect our D will get another turnover. Hopefullly a pick six.

GO BUCKS!! Beat scUM!!

I would like to see us do the following:

  1. Throw on first down, some short slants, TE pop pass, etc.
  2. Continue to blitz...
  3. Go after a punt block...we are very close to getting there...
