I've been to a lot of Games, both at our place and in the pig house, but one of the sweetest ever was 2001. After enduring the 13 year hell that was the John Cooper era (I went to every one of those....), to go up north and beat the weasels in their house was unbelievable. Buckyle mentions shedding a tear during Carmen Ohio, and I'll tell you, I shed a few listening to The Best Damn Band In The Land play our song to celebrate a win in their house. It still chokes me up a bit to think about it now. One of the best days ever. I'm looking forward to adding another to the W column this Saturday.
It's *ichigan week, baby! 9:08 am, Monday 11/24, and *ichigan still, as always, sucks.
O-H!
I-O!

You want to talk about the place erupting.......

wasn't in the stadium but was at the Hineygate....pure bedlam. Saw naked chicks, beers flying through the air, cops high fiving drunken co-eds...remember walking up to High Street and seeing a station wagon drive down the street with students riding on the roof and hood...memories I'll never forget. Bought my 15 year old cousin his first Fuck Michigan shirt that day...he still wears it. He gets it.

I was there as well (practically lived at Hineygate for about a 5 year stretch). Saw everything you mentioned above. I remember being involuntarily lifted up and carried amongst the crowd when everyone started heading to the 'Shoe for the game. Danger Bros. were in there prime, that Holiday Inn parking lot was a god damn disaster of drunken pussy and pissed off Buckeye fans. Here's to the good 'old days.

Fuck Michigan - Go Bucks

I was in 6th grade in 1954 and my sister was in her second year of the 2 year Dental Hygiene program. She managed to score tickets for Dad and me, about half-way up Section 20, C deck. I could barely sleep that entire week because my sister had thoroughly indoctrinated me in the Michigan Week Mystique. I spent Monday teaching my Greenmont Elementary buds how to sing the We Don't Give a Damn for the Whole State of Michigan song. With the score tied at 7 - 7 Michigan drove to a 1st down on the four early in the 4th quarter. The Bucks held them on fourth and one. Then Cassady broke free for a run of 50 yards and the Bucks drove 99.5 yards for the go-ahead touchdown. An interception, by Cassady, brought it to the Michigan 39 and an eight yard run by Hoppy iced it. My dad had no voice for a week. Great players rise to the occasion comes to mind.

In 74 I was on the sidelines as a photog stringer for the Dayton Daily News. Michigan threatened with a first and goal on the four or five, this time heading to the north goal. Again the Bucks held, killed some time and then punted. Michigan worked their way down close enough for Lantry to try his field goal. Wide. I had no voice left as I had been violating the journalist's golden rule of "No Cheering in the Press Box."

Elitist P rick, Ohio traitor and Michigan QB, Dennis Franklin, had been asked if all Michigan players came from Ohio and had replied, "Only the great ones." each time the Buckeye's made a great play on him - including a tackle for loss in the goal line stand - I'd scream as loud as I could, "Only the great ones, Franklin, only the great ones!"
