Game Thread THE GAME, Nov 29th, High Noon, ABC (It was a nice Time For War while it lasted)

If I remember correctly, Klaban was a walk-on who received a full ride immediately after The Game. At least that was the story at that time.
You might be right. During his first two seasons at Ohio State (1972-73), Klaban had 3 extra point attempts (converting two) and no field goal attempts. He did not letter either season.

Klaban became the regular place kicker in 1974 and 1975 and earned letter both seasons, although Tom Skladany attempted long field goals (generally 50+ yards).

Jalen Rose. Racist, drunk-driving, piece of [Mark May].
I know I've mentioned this story before, in his basketball forum thread maybe...

So, here's a shitty photo I took of Jalen with a cute blonde friend a couple years ago. We were in a bar. He was in town to call a Pacers game or some sh!t.

Shortly after this photo, I had the chance to walk up and talk to the man. And tell him to his face "I fucking hate you. Go Bucks!"

Truly a memorable experience.

I don't have any EVIDENTS, but from what I remember Woody awarded him a scholarship right after the game. Of course, there are several lengthy gaps in my memory from that time period.

Two trips to the shoe for Scum stand out for me

1968- I was in C Deck at the closed end with my Dad. My memory is that the entire 2nd half was a non stop celebration as Woody and the team put a beat down on scum. It was as loud at the end of the game as it was at the beginning.

1984- In A deck just behind the band in the northwest side of the stadium with my wife. (The band was not always in the south stands). The seats were not great for catching the action when it got close to the south end zone (I remember the seats being around the goaline in the north end), but they were great seats for the 4th Q as the Bucks were going south to north. At the beginning of the 4th, the Bucks were protecting a 7-6 lead. At about their own 35, they face a 3rd and long. Tomczak dropped back and threw a pass that was directly on a line to where we were sitting. It was thrown directly at a scum DB who was just waiting on the ball to get to him for an interception. At the very last second Mike Lanese jumped what seemed to be 3 feet at a 45 degree angle and snatched the ball with his fingertips. On the angle we were watching it literally looked like he came out of nowhere. The Bucks went on to score to ice the game.
