Game Thread THE GAME, 11/26/16, 12pm ET, ABC

Do we have any members who were college O linemen? Would be interested to hear your opinions about scUM fans' allegations of rampant holding.

I watched the game again, looking for it on both teams, and thought it was one of the cleanest games I have ever seen in that respect. The only egregious hold I saw was Daveon Smith on a blitzing Baker in the first half. There were a handful of other examples on both sides that were marginal, but on the whole, guys were keeping their hands inside and letting go when they should.

I wonder how many fans who complain about holding know what it is and isn't. They have to think using your arms or hands defines it.

Well since the turn of the century theyve won 3 times. However only one of those wins you could say scUM didnt have a decisive advantage on paper (2003)

On the flip side in the same time frame unranked Ohio State teams beat ranked scUM teams twice. 2001 scUM was ranked 11th, 2004 they were ranked 7th with Ohio State being unranked in both those games.

Not much positive can really be said about them since the year 2000 hit.

2-3 in the major "BCS" type bowls (conpared to 8-4 for Ohio State)

0 national titles

Only 3 top 10 finishes (compared to 10 for Ohio State, 12 if you count when only one of the coaches/AP had them top 10)

Embarassing losses to App State and Toledo.

And of course the 3-13 record against Ohio State.

Not sure how much longer Harbaugh will stick around, eespecially if he goes to 0-3 against Ohio State next year. Seems like the type that would jet back to the NFL if it becomes apparent he cant break through Ohio State to win the B1G.

I was wearing an Ohio State T-shirt through Orlando airport on my way back to Hawaii this morning, and while I was seated in the gate waiting area, some older guy (by older, I mean around my age) comes up to me and goes, "Sorry, but I have to say 'Go Blue'". He did so in a joking manner, and we ended up talking about the game and the possible playoffs choices for a good half hour. He was the antithesis of the typical Michigan fan. He was pretty knowledgeable, was very respectful towards to Buckeyes, and wasn't too pleased with Harbaugh. Quite a pleasant interaction actually.

Later, while walking towards the restroom, I spotted a younger guy (maybe 20-25) in a Michigan T-shirt coming from the other direction, and when we made eye contact and spotted each other's shirts, he just dropped his head before I could even say "Good game".

There were a couple of scUM fans out early in the morning (around 6) heading to the back of the line at Gameday. They were asked if they were looking for the ladies room.

Nothing wrong with a little banter!

"After a long lingering silence among the record crowd of 110,045 at Ohio Stadium, the officials upheld the call. On the next play, Curtis Samuel dashed 15 yards untouched around the left end and into Ohio State lore. He clinched an epic victory and secured a likely spot in the College Football Playoff for the Buckeyes and a spot near the top of the pantheon of great games in the 113-year history of this rivalry."

Ohio State-Michigan scores ABC’s 2nd-highest rating in 25 years

ESPN announced Sunday that Ohio State’s 30-27 double overtime victory over Michigan scored a total audience of 16.926 million viewers across all platforms and 16.647 million viewers on ABC. That figure tops Texas-Notre Dame as this season’s most-watched game by more than five million viewers. The 279,000 streaming viewers on WatchESPN also set a record for the three-year history of that platform.

and the #1 game was......

It also stands as the network’s second-most watched regular-season game dating back to 1991. The only game to top it over that span? Ohio State’s 42-39 shootout victory over Michigan in 2006, when the teams came in ranked Nos. 1 and 2.

On the local front, Ohio State-Michigan scored a 43.6 rating in Columbus, a 36.8 rating in Dayton, Ohio, and a 30.8 rating in Detroit.

That rating is off. It doesn't include every Amish boy who showed up at their neighbors with TV and dropped by for a "random" visit around noon Sat. I think I had about 75 of them myself.

“The only thing I kept stressing to the defense going up and down the sideline,” the Buckeyes’ defensive co-coordinator said, “was, ‘Do not lose your focus, do not start to worry, do not start to blame. It’s a long game and anything that’s worth anything doesn’t come easy. Have faith. Have confidence. Things are going to change.’”

Not sure, but wasn't the call "confirmed" and not just "upheld", i.e., "stands as called"?
