I completely missed this live but Harbaugh was so worked up over the face mask penalty on the big screen play, thinking it should have been a first down that he eventually snapped on the off sides and threw his fit.

So add his own stupidity to his lack of impulse control costing his team. The face mask was a spot foul so when it takes it back beyond the LOS it's 3rd and 5.

M fans need to man up a little bit. I remember well the late 80s and 90s where OSU lost most years and where the M players were even saying OSU-M wasn't a rivalry any longer, that MSU was their "real" rivalry. I get the pain of being close after 15 years of mostly frustration. But outside of the missed PI call on their 2 OT drive I don't think they have a leg to stand on. It was a first down. M lost because they made critical mistakes and OSU stepped up in the 4th and the OT. They lost because of an incredible play from Samuel on that 3rd down. etc.

When OSU lost to an inferior Penn State team I didn't sit around and beef about the penalty disparity and the sorry calls, especially that awful missed PI call that likely would've changed the outcome. My attitude was that they were way up and played like garbage in the 4th. The special teams let a FG chance turn into a game-changing TD (10 point swing). The offense couldn't move the ball when it counted. They were sacked every other play. They deserved to lose.

Yeah. "I can't throw crap on the field? That's a penalty?" He whines that the official said it was a technical foul in basketball. I can see how that's irrelevant to what's going on there, but still - you can't expect to get away with throwing your playbook or whatever on the field.

And go back and look at why he was whining - the lineman lined up across from the guard jumps offsides, the left guard jumps. That's a penalty on the defense.

Go back even before that. He threw a fit because he thought he should have had a first down on the face mask call on the long gainer screen. That's when he melted down, the off side and unsportsmanlike were just the final result. It was going to be something.

This is why I kind of chuckle at the talk of him going back to the NFL. I mean at some point his tantrums have to become a liability to his future right?
