I love this movie, and the Dropkick Murphy's song for the movie is absolutley amazing. Me and a few friends were discussing the other day which song is more badass the Departed song or the Boondock Saints song. Pretty tough to pick in my opinion.

Anyways though, I thought everyone did a great job in the movie and I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked the ending alot. It shocked the hell out of me, and of course I wanted it to end another way and all, but thats the great thing about it, it played with you.

sheesh, cornerback. you may want to warn people that you are including a vital spoiler. while those who have not watched the movie probably shouldn't enter this thread now, many bpers use bpspy and can't help but read your spoiler.

:tibor:

Then don't look at the thread. Wow, what a concept.

The Roger Waters / Van Morrison live recording of Comfortably Numb is also amazing.

Rented the movie this past weekend. Thought it was really good. The soundtrack was great. Ive never heard Dropkick Murphy before, anyone have a suggestion on which CD they have out that I should buy?

The Dorpkick Murphys are an awesome band. Think celtic punk. I reccomend the following...

Sing Loud, Sing Proud
The Warriors Code

If you want a point of reference, they are similar to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones but the punk parts are punkier.

IMO, they are the best band for this genre since the Pogues and Shane McGowan split.

"The Warrior's Code" and "Blackout" are my favorites. "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" from the movie is on "The Warrior's Code". "For Boston" is a really good live CD of theirs as well. You really can't go wrong with any of them. If you dig them, check out Flogging Molly as well...they kick ass.

If you want something that is more traditional, and less punkish check out The Stone Soup Band. (a buddy of mine plays guitar for them)

I don't know. I didn't fall in love with it. I thought Sheen was awful. I thought the plot was predictable.

The only thing that really made the movie was the acting of LeoD and Jack. I also thought the guy who played Boggs in Shawshank was excellent.

But very overrated. Shouldn't even be spoken in the same breath as Goodfellas.

can't you read, tibs? i stated that those who follow messages by bpspy can't help but read what is posted. a spoiler (at least for a recent movie) should not be mentioned in the first few lines. also, the thread that the spoiler was listed in was (and is) not titled as a spoiler thread... as a "300" thread is. common decency is letting others know that there is a spoiler ahead. this is general and widely shared etiquette.

don't you understand this simple concept, or is that over your head?

Yeah, ruining the end of a movie by posting a spoiler on a message board is against "common decency"

The amount of people who take the internet this seriously is comical.

:tibor:

p.s. the only major character alive at the end of the movie was the one played by Donnie Walberg. And I guess Alec Baldwin, if you consider him a main character.
