Being the cheap @ss that I am, I pick up whatever good smoke I can at "just move them" prices.

I've had a decent amount of luck finding Padrons and Graycliffs at good prices. A few years ago Pedermo's and Carlos T's seemed to be the good deals.

If you look around you can usually find Gurkhas at "reasonable" prices...

First cigar in about 6 months today. Trying out a new Alex Bradley American classic blend, since they got rid of the family blend for some reason. Not overly impressed.

Beginning to wonder if I’ve lost my taste for cigars (is this possible). I haven’t really been overly interested in having one for awhile.

I find it best to have a smoke with a good friend or family member. I rarely have one alone anymore.

Ok folks …. very much a noob/novice here…. few questions:
  • How long to sealed cigars stay good - no humidor
  • what are some decent but cheaper cigars to start with?

Going on a vacation soon… meeting some other Dad’s who have much more stressful lives … was gonna bring a few to light up and enjoy …

Cigars are like women - everyone has a preference, but rarely are you wrong. The problem is you won’t know what you like or dislike, until you’ve tried it.

You should get KUBA KUBA and Fat Bottom Betty’s. Both drew estate cigars. Think “infused” - both are “sweet” or “flavored” if you will. Great for novices and old smokeheads just looking to change it up. I am in love with fat bottom betty’s right now.
Also get some Monte Cristo white series. Not cheap - but nobody will complain about these.
Rocky Patel sun grown maduro - my go to everyday smoke right now - I love these puppies
rocky Patel - the edge.. if you want inexpensive, this is a great option.

Ask 100 people and you’ll get 100 answers

Oh and get the humidity pack 72 and stick them in the bag they give you from the cigar shop. You’ll be fine for a few weeks

If "cigars are like women" and a "woman is like an elephant'(nice to look at but you wouldn't want to own one!" Then is a cigar like an elephant?

My father had a "thing" for Marsh Wheeling stogies? They smelled like a burning trash pile. He liked taking them for a swim in Tappan Lake for some reason. I have a picture of him doing exactly that! The boxes were nice tho!marsh-wheeling-cigars-online-for-sale.jpg

Punch Elite Oscuro or Gran Cru and the Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 (Gran Reserva) are good medium bodied starter sticks that won’t make you turn green if you’ve not smoked a ton of cigars before. Can usually find them in 5 packs for $25 at most online dealers. Henry Clay box pressed are fantastic but I can’t find them anywhere anymore. I agree with the Drew Estate choices mentioned earlier, but would caution they’re much more complex and full bodied for a virgin palette.

Just starting out, skip the humidor entirely and get one of those small waterproof boxes they sell in the camping supply section at big box retailers. Toss in a Boveda 72% pack for every 15-20 cigars. I keep a small case that holds 10 robustos in the Jeep and the thing never needs refreshed.
