The Basketball Tournament (Carmen's Crew = 2019 and 2024 Champions)

This team had too many bigs, not enough wings or guards. They couldn't match up with team fredette today. No need for Ravenel, Lauderdale, Oden, Mullen, and Sullinger. Sullinger could beat up teams when he has the size advantage but Cooley is just as big as him. Mullen might have helped because he was a true 7 footer and was more athletic than Oden.

Battle would have helped, they needed another guard or wing. I can't think of a wing to add to the Buford, Lighty, and Diebler. Maybe Sam Thompson. Deshaun Thomas might have help with scoring.

If they want to win next year, they need guys committed for all 3 weeks. Also just do a even split to everyone but get a roster full of people they can actually use.

Deshun Thomas would be a help or if they could get Tate. Maybe LaQuinton Ross or Loving but they are as likely to have an off game as on.

Overseas Elite looking for its fourth straight The Basketball Tournament title tonight

Who wouldn’t want to capsize the unsinkable?

The members of the Overseas Elite know the desire’s there, now that they’re 24-0 overall after defeating the Golden Eagles 85-60 Thursday in The Basketball Tournament semifinal at Morgan State.

“We don’t want anyone to beat us, to knock us off our throne. Psychologically, we come out expecting to win every game,” said point guard Errick McCollum.

Any team with a consistent diet of winning is going to feel like the “target’s on [their] backs.”

New England Patriots or New York Yankees, and imagine they’ve had that success in a period comparative to the Elite’s four years.

No other team can come close.

A trio of former Buckeyes will team up in The Basketball Tournament.

C.J. Jackson, in his first summer after graduating from Ohio State, will team up with Jae'Sean Tate on Andrew Dakich-coached Big X in the summer basketball tournament with $2 million on the line.

Jackson, whose collegiate career ended this summer, averaged 12 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as a senior last year. He and Tate played two seasons together, and they also played with Dakich during the 2017-18 season.

Two teams in The Basketball Tournament will have multiple former Ohio State players representing them. The team formerly known as Scarlet and Gray, which Scoonie Penn coaches and included Jared Sullinger, Aaron Craft, Jon Diebler and others last summer, will return and host a regional event at Capital University on July 19-21.

The tournament will begin on July 19.
