Game Thread That Team Up North @ Ohio State - 11/24/18, The '62' Game, Revenge Revoked

and that aura went out and got whipped by ND in it's first game.

The aura found itself down 17-0 on the road against Northwestern before they miracled their way to a FG win.

The aura struggled mightily with a truly pathetic Sparty team on the road as well.

But now the aura is just going to roll into Columbus and embarrass the Buckeyes in their own house.

ok

Disrespectful. 4.5 point underdogs at home? Outside of their Penn St. game, it was a good season, nothing outstanding. Let’s do this.

Can’t sleep. The Game permeates my soul. I want nothing more than to see that team get crushed.

Other “rivalries” will never understand it. Nothing comes close. It’s bigger than a Saturday football game, always has been and always will be. It flows through your veins and sets your core on fire. Not much else can have me sitting up on edge and seriously considering a glass of bourbon at three thirty in the morning.

The thought of them leaving our state with any shred of victory makes me sick. Whether it’s 15 of the last 17 or 400 out of the last 400, it won’t settle the acid boiling in my blood when they cross our border with their smug attitudes and loud mouths.

This is Shea’s first trip to The Horseshoe. Make him understand what it means to travel here with that group of weasels, wearing those godforsaken colors, and trying to take something from us like the ones before them.

Often in big games I’ve felt like we expext it to be a close game and play that way instead of coming out breathing fire like we expect to curb stomp.

I’d really like to see us come out offensively very aggressive ala the 2014 CCG against Wiscy. Just come out blazing. The offense will have to carry us so I’d love to be around 21-24 points at half.

I un-liked this so I could like it twice

#7 is of special import imo. It could absolutely be their undoing in this game.

I would also submit;

8) They are making guarantees and handing out free tickets to the Big Ten Championship game up in AA. They haven't won anything in a decade and a half and are acting as though this is over before it's even played. Their entitlement and arrogance being shown full frontal if it's ever been shown at all.

I call this one out because it speaks to why, as a reasonably sane adult, I get so into Buckeye football;

It has nothing to do with the results of games validating my existence. My family, the work I do for my organization and the work I do in my community accomplish that for me.

I stay away from using "we" when discussing the Ohio State football team but when it comes to the eternal struggle with tsun, the eternal struggle between good and evil, the eternal struggle between the positive values I was taught as a youth and the wanton arrogance and entitlement I was taught to revile, then I feel absolutely justified in using "we" because The Ohio State University is the school that represents where I am from. What I was taught. Who I am and, more importantly, the people who raised and taught me. It doesn't matter if you went to school at OSU, if you were born in Ohio or have become a fan through marriage or some other circumstance. We are all Buckeyes.

So, when I see these bastards flaunt their arrogance they are disrespecting the state of Ohio, The Ohio State University, my family, my ancestors and my heritage. It isn't about what happens on a football field, this is about the fields our families worked in the boiling heat and freezing cold to put food on their own table and many others. Those fields are where they taught us a work ethic and right from wrong. Be humble, work hard, serve others.

Those fields of the past are where I picture some arrogant, entitled punk from the "Harvard of the West" spitting on my ancestor because they were born into more wealth. Be an entitled douche, do nothing, the world is here to serve you.

I, for one, shall be damned if I ever let that happen without a fight. I don't care if the sports teams at Ohio State lose 1000 times in a row. I will never give up the fight. If you love The Ohio State University for the same reasons, if you know it or not, these bastards are doing the same to you.

So then, the question becomes are you going to join the fight or are you going to sit there with your arms crossed in the corner pouting and bitching about the things that aren't perfect?

If it's the former, then show up and cheer your lungs out. Watch it from wherever you can and do the same. Don't quit if it goes against the team for stretches of the game. Stay in it, cheer them and give them every ounce of positive energy you have until the end. If you choose the latter then I pity you but I don't have time for you.

Go Bucks!!

Fuck *ichigan!
Obviously I have never doubted that you "get it" but God damn, man... this is beautiful. Absolutely spot on. A true work of art. Woody has blessed you, my friend.

Got into Columbus late last night for a small Thanksgiving #2 today. Feels good to wake up in the great state of Ohio. Definitely some extra juice and especially on Game week. I’m ready.

Our Buckeyes have an opportunity tomorrow to ruin everything. Ruin that team’s Big Ten Division hopes. Ruin their Big Ten Championship hopes. Ruin their Playoff hopes. Ruin their season, their revenge tour and their idiot “savior.”

Guys, I am pumped about that opportunity and the Buckeyes are going to do just that in about 27 hours.

Good morning! In less than a day, fans from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the greatest football battle in this history of mankind.

Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps it is fate that today is the last Saturday of November, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from *ichigan.

We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.

And should we win the day, the 24th of November will no longer be known as an Ohio holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!"

Today, we celebrate Hate *ichigan week.

Throwback Asshat of the Day: Mike Hart, RB

Years: 2004-2007

Record against OSU: 0-4

Lowlights: could the final installment have been anyone but him? Probably no one in the history of the series has fired their mouth off more over the course of 4 years...and he ended up with nothing to show for it but Ls. This one is all the sweeter because unlike the previous collection of motley bums, Hart was actually a very accomplished RB. In 2004, he was coming off a 4 game stretch where he had rushed for over 200 yards 3 times, and was coming off 151 yards and 3 TDs the previous week against Indiana. Output: 18 carries, 61 yards, 3.4 YPC in loss #1. In 2005 he was limited by injury (and Mike the Bike was born) and his OSU output was a classic stinker, 9 carries for all of 15 yards. In the 2006 classic he played well, rushing for 142 yards and 3 TDs, but still took L #3. And in 2007, he capped his 0-4 career off with a giraffe abortion of a game where he gained all of 44 yards on 18 carries, for a monumental 2.4 YPC in a 14-3 defensive beat down as he watched his counterpart Beanie Wells annihilate dUMb for 222 yards and both TDs. So Mike The Bike, you are THE quintessential dUMb player of the 2000s...congratulations.

Really thought old, "blood on the field" 0-5 Kyle Kalllllis would make the list.
