Game Thread That Team Up North @ Ohio State - 11/24/18, The '62' Game, Revenge Revoked

just finished watching *ichigan vs. IU game. I'm sure we'll see a much more locked in scUM team this weekend but IU's offense attacked their defense in a similiar way I expect tOSU to attack them. Few keys to victory:

Scott was an absolute beast for IU in the run game. We need a healthy and physical Weber on Saturday to compliment Dobbins.

The style of defense they play, Haskins will again have to make some big plays with his legs. He needs to be decisive when he pulls it and just get what he can. OL has to play solid and give him as much time as possible. Just keep the chains moving.

IU hit a ton of underneath crossing routes. OSU excels in this, but they need to take their shots deep too. ttun's corners struggled to find the ball when IU challenged press coverage Saturday.

and for a couple of obvious ones:

LB's need to recognize play-action early. A staple of Harbaugh's offense, Patterson does a really good job selling the run. LB's/Safties can't lose TE's and backs out of the backfield on play-action.

and finally, ad nauseam...... LB's/safties must gap fill and take proper angles in pursuit. Higdon isn't a burner but he is fast and elusive enough to make this defense look bad if out of position. Wilson and Evans are good compliments to Hidgon's more down hill style.

Going to take a bigtime effort to pull this one out.

using previous editions of The Game as a rough guide, I could see this one end up a lot like '06. Total shootout.

OSU spreads out a big strong defense and has a lot of success throwing with just enough running to keep them honest.

Weak OSU defense just does what it can and makes some timely stops. Tsun passing game is better than people think and as much as we've seen the OSU defense struggle against the run, the corners are just as much of a concern to me.

Forecast of rain and wind may throw all this out the window.

I don't know. Just a feeling.

Pro Style Offense? Bring it! Stay home and tee off on those fuckers!!!!

THIS. Our defense has trouble with lack of discipline when offenses throw "shiny things" at us like motion out of shotgun and 4 and 5 receiver sets, running backs with counters to the short side of the field etc. SCUM is pro style/run first with very little extra action and only one NFL- bound play maker on offense (Peoples Jones). Harbaugh worships BO and is just as stubborn and even more arrogant in his reliance on the power run game. That should allow our defensive front a chance to control the trenches. This combined with the pressure of playing in the Shoe and SCUMS recent troubles in the Redzone, I just don't see the "track meet" kind of scoring everyone else does. First one to 24 wins. And I think it's the playmakers in our offense who get us there first.
