Thad Matta (OSU's All Time Winningest Coach & 3x B1G COY, Butler HC)

No. I think the only college Matta might eventually leave for, if any, would be Indiana since he grew up there. Other than that he's a Buckeye as long as he wants to be.
I don't think Matta's new, favorite recruiting tactic of taking the prospects to football games and whispering, 'Come here and build this program with me, and one day they'll cheer for you like that,' would have the same impact at an IU or UK.

came up at lunch today.. thad matta will always be second fiddle to football.. if a UK comes barking, will matta be gone?
where does matta rank amongst the pay scale...

and do you really believe that every game the shoe is ranked up their with tamu or uf for football? when a top 15 visits the place is electric. when a mac/lower level b10 the place is a morgue. same can be said for the schott...

not sure where he ranks in pay.. what do you mean by the second part.. i've read it a couple times and i cant figure out, sorry..

duke, for example, is a basketball school.. tOSU, for example, is a football school. We can woo other coaches to our football program because it's the big time. Just like basketball at a UK or Duke.. matta is the man, and hes young.. while tOSU certainly can get the recruits and fans are there especially when we are winning, he will always be second fiddle to Jim Tressel and the football program.. you know?

Is that a problem? If the osu bball fanbase continues to grow, the wins/recruits keep piling up, and matta's wallet stays full... is there a need to leave for UK where averaging 26 wins a season isn't enough?

Whine and cheese? Oh please--this is a football town as much as any other in the country. I just think you exaggerate when you say the 'Shoe "naps" through average games or becomes a "morgue", as compared to some of those smaller stadiums: sure, there are periods of downtime when the action is slow or we start to pull away (and possibly more in a bad period like 99-00), but Ohio Stadium gets as loud and crazy as anywhere every single game when the team is good.

i can name more places ive been to games that i can say are more rocking than the shoe. (the thing about the shoe is its height, size and its concrete)
