Some idiot on espn said tejas isn't tejas this year. NO, YOU FUCKING IDIOT...THIS IS WHO THEY ARE FOR ALMOST ALL OF THE LAST HALF CENTURY! Aside from the random "tejas is back" season and the Radio/Colt glory half decade, this is exactly who tejas is since they choked away that national championship to the domers in 1977. The last two years were the aberration not the norm. I'm calling my money shot right now: 5 losses if they stick with Starch.

You got to wonder what the fuck is happening in practice with Starch ? Is he lighting up their D ? Don't they see the same bullshit we get to witness on Saturdays ?

Go look at the thread on Surly for Arch. It has the whole history back to '23 or whenever he came on board.

The level they worked themselves up to is remarkable. He was Joe Montana's head, with Dan Marino's arm on Tim Tebow's body.

Point being that no group can get themselves to that level of expectation and then deal with reality showing them something different. It has to be the coaches, it has to be the media hating him and making it sound worse than it is etc etc etc. The human psyche isn't going to allow them to just admit the guy sucks and isn't anywhere near what we thought he was (not that any mortal could be).

Which is why Sark is in such a rotten position. Not only does he have to deal with the portion of the fanbase that still believes that Starch is the chosen one, but he'll have to deal with the backstabbing from Manning Inc. should he do what is clearly 100% obvious and bench Starch. If Sayin had turned into the bust that Starch has, I think everyone here would be howling at Day to put Lincoln in.

Maybe Sark is just waiting for the third loss that puts them out of the CFP to make the move. Once that happens , and you know it will, then the pressure for the championship season will be pushed to the 2026 season. Because you know next year is the year "They're Back" .....
