Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

ESPN: Arch Manning's struggles at Texas are reaching a potential crossroads. Texas is expected to give an uptick in first-team quarterback reps to redshirt freshman KJ Lacey Jr. this week in practice, per ESPN sources. The shift in reps indicates a greater possibility of Lacey replacing Manning if he struggles when No. 19 Texas hosts No. 7 Ole Miss on Saturday. Coach Steve Sarkisian said on Monday that Manning remains Texas' starting quarterback, but that the Longhorns need to see improvement. "Arch can play better for us," Sarkisian said. "He's our starter. But I need a better version of Arch Manning."

There is no better version. Reality is that he never tested himself against top competition in high school. Played in a weak ass private school league (and still couldn't run up huge stats) and stayed away from all the elite camps except grandpa's.

Now he's up in the big leagues getting his turn at bat, and he's just clearly overwhelmed by the talent and speed of the defenses even after practicing against good tejas defenses for three years.

How...just how did we lose to these guys?

There is no more upside to this guy. He'sin his 4th year in Sark's system. He's halfway through his second year as the starter plus multiple starts in 24 when Ewers was hurt. And speaking of that, if he really was this generational talent at QB then he 100% Wally Pipps Quinn at that point.

He's Tulane's starter next year. Mark it, Dude.
