Yeah, they've hyped themselves up since last season on Arch, and that's just because of his name, not because anything actually seen on the field. Media fed into that during the offseason and here we are. Wasn't Sayin the top prospect the prior year, and they're treating him how they should, "let's see what he does."

Reading more on Surly, lots of complaining about penalties. But not that they were bad calls, just bad penalties. Also, lots of "why can't we win the big games." Tejas fanbase surprisingly self aware. Really down on Arch. That will turn around quickly after they beat up on a few bad teams.

I will give them credit in that they will turn on and eat their own pretty quickly. They're not the pedsters of dfbia.

I saw a lot of whining about Ohio State holding and it not being called. When Ohio State was called for holding (I think the score was still 14-0) right before punting to Texas, I think their fans just said that it was to make the stats look more even.

Ohio State was called for holding twice. The first time was in the end zone and would have resulted in a safety but for offsetting penalties, that is, had Texas not grabbed a fistful of face-mask first causing the face-masked victim to hold. The next, and enforced, holding penalty was really iffy.

The Longhorns didn't start on the right foot as they only had 12 yards of offense in the first drives that ended in punts. Manning looked shaky as well, being 3 for 6 with 11 yards, with one of his passes being overthrown that was almost intercepted.

The second half was a similar start to the first as the Longhorns came away with only a field goal in the first two opening drives. Manning scored the only touchdown of the game by running it in.

Manning played most of the game against a cupcake and still had low moments…
