Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

In 10 years they will be lamenting the curse of pitbull, after their 10th straight year of no conference championships.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but who cursed them from 2010 to 2022? 13 seasons without even a Big 12 championship.
Also, yikes! Texas only won 4 Big 12 championships in 28 seasons? That's some Penn State-level of hype without production there. (Penn State has 4 championships in 30 seasons.)

If I am reading this correctly, Texas is back?

I've pointed this out many times. Since the mid-70s, they have been an utterly mediocre program with a few "Texas Is Back" seasons sprinkled in. The only exception and consistent success they had was with Radio and Colt during that 2004-2009 run. That's one 6 year run of national relevance in half a century. Everything in their history says that their success last year and whatever they do this year will be the exception and not the rule. They'll go back to being who they truly are soon enough.

I'm sure I've seen that stat before, and I'd be willing to bet that it was on here (since I really don't look on other sites much) and I have no reason to believe that it wasn't you who said that. But yeah - I thought they had won more in that 2004-2009 span. Nope. Just 2 in that span. One in 1996 or 1997 or something in there, and then again in 2023.

The way I see it, they'll probably officially be "back" this year when they lose a bunch of games. But "being back" doesn't mean the same to them as it does to me.

Texas. Destroyer of two conferences, now trying to rule the SEC.
