Coop just never had a Vince Young; but, yes, very comparable careers.

Yeah, but he had plenty of other NFL talent that his dumb ass squandered. Give him a Radio, and he still would have found a way to lose to tsun and the third place SEC team in the Hall Of Fame Bowl. The only thing that makes the Cooper years tolerable for me is that I lived outside the country for all but the first couple. Otherwise, I'd have gone full White Sox fan coming in HOT.

But the fact that he had an Eddie George(WITH Orlando Pace) and couldn't beat scUM but 1 time, and only get OSU to the Citrus Bowl is a travesty.
Spread offenses really destroyed the best of defenses if you had a dynamic QB. Brown had VY, and was an injury away from doing it again with Colt.

Grinch will not be the DC there forever. There's always rumors of him getting a lower P5/G5 Hc opportunity or an opportunity elsewhere.

By the time OU joins the SEC, I'd be surprised if Grinch is still there.
Yeah, Grinch will take the job at Washington State after this season likely.

I wouldn't be opposed to OU hiring a guy (maybe Will Muschamp) to implant a true SEC defensive scheme.

"SEC defensive scheme?" You realize the teams in the SEC just play well known defensive schemes, right? There's no magical "SEC defensive scheme" that you get to run when you join the SEC. It's not like a secret handshake.
No one can implement a genuine SEC defensive scheme outside the SEC because they require SEC speed.

So that's why Alex Grinch has refused to earn his paycheck at his most recent gigs.

"Wrap up instead of bouncing off or flying past Barry Sanders in techmo bowl" is a really good starting scheme.

And once you go sec, the "well but the league has a lot of offense!" schtick will be gone.

Fast learners, I see.
You guys get "it".
You'll fit right in with the Boys.
