Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Back?

Here's a good "stat" in the article:

ESPN's Football Power Index gives the Longhorns a 54% chance to win the Big 12. The only FBS team with a higher chance to win its respective conference entering this season is Ohio State in the Big Ten (71%).

That happened right after Texas social media posted this

Wasn’t this kid at Michigan a few years back? Looks familiar.

Back, but it never lasts. Given how piss poor the B12 is this year, they might even make the CFP this year, but that is just the set up that drives their arrogance to a frothing peak before they come out and shit the bed next year. We've had these difficult times before when they've temporarily come back. Just keep in mind that it's a necessary evil in order to make their inevitable plunge back to earth all the more satisfying.

They caught Alabama in a "down year"

This might be Saban's most meh time in awhile. Milroe is not going to get them far, not much hope if the guys behind him couldn't win the job to start.
Let's hope the false sense of confidence beating Alabama gives them will contribute to an epic meltdown as the season progresses. Bonus points for their loss to a sub-500 Texas being a drag on Alabama's ranking.
