Yeah, well the coaches will have to jump TCU, and their names are on the ballots this year, so do you think they'll have the balls to do what's right?

Not even close, because they know if they are up there next time in the same situation, all the ballots are coming up snake eyes. It's a Big 6 boy's club if ever there was one.

Maybe it should go to Foles??? :tongue2:

(Sorry, had to throw that in, we tried to bring Joey Elliott into contention earlier in the year :!)

Seriously though, 3 TDs against Florida in the title game probably sent it Ingram's way.

Yup, I'm thinking Ingram with his gutsy performance.

And as a complete offshoot...a black man just discovered Pink Floyd and the Comfortably Numb guitar solo...

I now understand rock music so much more

You're probably right, and he plays on an undefeated team. I think that could push him over the edge... I think they want to give it to McCoy as a lifetime achievement award but he really hasn't look great for the entire year, and hasn't had a lot of big games to prove himself... and he sure didn't look great tonight, with the whole country watching him.

What annoys me is that Gerhart won't get serious consideration though I think he deserves it.

Seriously, for all the people who will be doubtlessly whining that UC should jump Texas I ask...why exactly should their one point win count for more than the one Texas got? Because they can pile up points and give up a pile of points? This was an epic defensive game. Suh is a manbeast. There is no reason that 45-44 counts for more than 13-12.

I think it would be very hard for Cincinnati to make the jump, based on their season. TCU, on the other hand, arguably has had a more impressive season than Texas on a consistant basis.

Nah, beating our defense is no great feat this year :! Foles is good but Gerhart has been great all year, even in their losses. And he's been huge in their big games.

I agree, I think it should be Gerhart too, but sadly his ND perfomance came before the games today.

To me it's more about the fact that Texas' schedule has been so unbelievably weak this year. And I think Cincinnati would beat Texas on the field. I think a lot of teams would, actually... Oregon, TCU...

It seems to me a lot like the Florida situation. Florida was able to pad its stats against horrible teams this year and cover up a lot of flaws, especially offensively. But they played a great team for their CCG and got exposed.

Texas didn't even have to play a great team to win their CCG.

The Big XII was a lot weaker this year than people thought...at the beginning of the year there was talk of the 3rd place team in the Big XII south being better than the winners of the other 5 conferences (or the other 4 not counting the SEC). Now Oklahoma and Oklahoma State faltered down the stretch (OU pretty mcuh all year) and no one else was anywhere near as good as people had thought. I really don't thinm the Big East was all that great either though.

The Big East is not good, I agree, I just saw that Cincy has beaten more ranked teams than Texas, though. The Big 12 was overrated this year, and last year too. I really don't think Texas is that much better than TCU, if at all.

With all due respect, and I know last year is last year, but Texas can't get left out of the title game two years in a row in another BCS controversy. They arguably deserved it more last year.

Overall, what a clusterfuck of a season. Texas played (and thus beat) nobody. Cincy can put up a ton of points against teams that don't have defensive lines, but can't play defense against the Sisters of the Poor. TCU is balanced on both sides of the ball, has beaten some solid (but not great) teams.

And one of those teams will randomly be selected to play Alabama. Why can't they just play on the field rather than in our heads?
