I'm sure the NIL school's recruiting pitch won't be either/or. The school with the NIL money convinces the recruit that he can have both at the NIL school.

Fickell didn't register a big uptick and recruiting and if I remember neither did Jim Tressel. HCs don't always get recruiting wins, especially last minute ones. I don't see Veneables getting many last minute commits in OU either.
If Knowles can make a competent defense who isn't afraid to tackle in '22, then the recruits will come in. Osu has talent, and this was a very good class, but having a good coordinator will make all the difference in the world

Tress had 20 days to glue together the 2001 class and it was still top 15. 2002 was Top 4 nationally - even without Drushaun Humphrey (RIP) and with a bunch of future long time NFLers rated 3 stars. Hard to compare to the last Cooper class because there were barely ratings at that point. :lol:
