Play folks you despise long enough, and you get a rival. ( I'm not sure how many beer cans thrown at Buckeys fans it took to get Penn State to that spot - if they are in that spot).

But then, I admit that Tennessee was not a rival until they became our every year East opponent. Things got real quickly with the OBC and Fulmer at the helms.

They're not imo. Until the Sandusky thing, I felt about the same as I do for Nebraska now. A recent big name addition that's occasionally made for a good game but never really lived up to the hype.
Now, I wish they would close their athletics department entirely -- and there's a fair amount of hatred there -- but it comes from a totally different place than Michigan, Steelers, etc.
They disgust me as a decent human being. I would be fine if teams refused to even play them and just forfeited every game.
The desperation with which they try to foist this fake rivalry on us only makes it worse. Their white out should have been the Pitt game if not for the envy.

What would be your top four rivals, if you have four?

We have Georgia, FSU, Tennessee (although them losing 12 out of the last 13 to gata is impacting that), and our every year west opponent LSU. And if we played Miami on the reg, they would bump Tennessee as the third.

Auburn was a big rival, but we lost them in the reorg.
