Fulmer's boys head west to take on Neuheisel's.

At least it's very unlikely that Phil will get subpoena'ed in L.A.

Like them or not, this first weekend the SEC teams(outside of a couple of the bad ones) are killing people. UCLA sounds like they are going to do a scUM impersonation on offense.

In this game, probably so. I think their offensive ceiling is higher than scUMs though. Norm Chow seems more likely to adjust his gameplan to his personnel while Master Shredder runs his gimmicky offense with whatever players happen to show up, regardless of their attributes.

ESPN - Tennessee Volunteers vs. UCLA Bruins Preview, September 1 2008 - NCAA College Football
Vols hope the road gets easier in '08 starting with trip to UCLA

A loss in its opener last season foreshadowed Tennessee's season-long struggle to win on the road. The Volunteers will learn very quickly if those troubles are going to carry over into this year.

The 18th-ranked Vols look to get off to a strong start when they open at the Rose Bowl on Monday night against UCLA and new coach Rick Neuheisel.

Tennessee went 9-4 last season to win the SEC East Division, and defeated Wisconsin 21-17 in the Outback Bowl to earn a No. 12 ranking in the final AP poll. While the Vols were one victory away from playing in a BCS bowl, they missed out on any chance to play for the BCS title because of their road woes.

Contd...

I'm in for a measly 2K on UCLA. While I respect UT for being the only SEC school that will go on the road against a name opponent, they're still Fat Phil and UT and the SEC.

Always liked UCLA. Was sorry when they took the low road and hired Neuhisel, but I'll take them over the SEC any day.

I was going to put 30 million on Tennessee -7.5, but my ISP has been down for the last hour. It came back at 2 minutes after the hour.

We'll see if that was a good break or a bad break. :tongue2:
