that's what we just saw. didn't think it could happen, but it did.

on second thought, maybe that was part of Miles' plan.

somehow (other than the Ole Piss game last year), he wins these fucking games. no clue how or even why, but he does.

the most frustrating, baffling, entertaining, and down right nuttiest head coach i've ever seen in my life.
and some how he's won 78% of his games here.

I don't blame Michigan fans for trying to paint a better picture that was the selection process, but Miles had the job if he wanted it, just as Stoops had the OSU job if he had said 'yes.'

All of which says to me that the upper level of the Big 10 is not as lucrative or as easy a job as the upper level Big 12 and SEC. Further proof? Urban left ND empty handed.

Miles was never offered the Michigan job, which is why so many alums and boosters were so ticked off when they settled for RR.

The majority of AA wanted Miles, including the coach search committee, but Martin wanted nothing to do with him.

Yep. You are right. As long as the foul is not a dead ball foul (or a live ball foul treated as a dead ball foul) they offset. The 14 guys on the field is a live ball foul. Had the Vol foul been a personal foul after the fumble was recovered by the Vols (instead of the too many men foul) - and LSU had also committed a live ball foul during the play, it would be game over, no offset, no replay.

Listening to SEC supervisor of officials Rogers Redding, he said that if they'd called the helmet removal, it would have been a 'live ball foul treated as a dead ball foul', and both penalties would have marked off, rather than been offsetting. That means that if they'd called the helmet removal (which wouldn't have been fair without also calling Tennessee's coaches and players coming onto the field early), the untimed down would have been from the 16-yard line (half the distance, followed by a dead-ball 15-yards for LSU).

But having it from the 1 was the proper thing to do. Tennessee had enough time to do their substitutions, they just messed them up. And calling the helmet removal without calling the premature UT celebration wouldn't have been fair.
